Full Description & Details
Having seen the video of the phoenix lights, and now a page on the Lubbock Lights, I figured I should let my story be known. I have told all my friends about it at one time or another, whenever the subject of UFOs comes up.
In the spring of 1987, I, my brother, and some friends (5 total) were riding through the countryside of Southeast Michigan, near Milan, one night. We were talking about UFOs and pulling out our ghost stories. We were having a good time. One of us, in the back seat of the car as I recall, said that he saw something, and I pulled over. We got out and saw in the sky an arc of lights at a relative elevation to us of about 45 degrees.
These lights were not moving at all, and were paired red and blue lights. We were not very far from the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) but we all thought it strange that there would be a precise formation of helicopters just hovering there. Then, the two sets on the extreme right and the two sets on the extreme left (the arc was oriented with the ends pointing down/away from us) detached from formation, started moving towards each other, passed in the middle, and took each others' place on the opposite sides.
I think we counted 13 sets in all making up this formation. I'm pretty sure of that number. The lights stayed in that position for so long making absolutely no sound or movement whatsoever, that even though we were convinced that the lights were UFOs, we got bored looking at them and just got in the car and drove away. Not a very exciting sighting, but it adds to the data heap I hope.
It is interesting to note that my brother told me he saw some ufo program wherein the same thing we saw was described on TV, and the sighting had appeared in Sweden. The person who had seen it drew a picture and showed it on the program.
Can sighting
be explained as any conventional man-made or natural
object?
I think it was an aircraft test, by humans. I don't think it was conventional, unless you can make 13 helicopters completely silent at a range of one mile.
Personal Background
Printer, mechanic, inventor (not a great one, just compulsive), writer, linguist, arithmetophobe.
Views on UFOs, before and after sighting
I believe UFOs are advanced technology. Built by humans, but revealed by spiritual agents. I believe there is a conspiracy between those who really know about it, and that there is a huge investigative structure in place that is constantly being fed misinformation about them. I have had abnormal dreams concerning UFOs and it is apparent to me that the spiritual agents concerned are not "nice" in the conventional sense of that term.
Other Comments
People need to examine what motivates them from their inner beings, and discern consciously whether or not they are a part of the solution to the world's Problem, which is lack of selfless love. It is not a light thing. There is hope.
