Driving south on farm-to-market road 1454 from just west of Plainview, Tx. to Hale Center, Tx., I noticed a large glowing object to the west. I watched for about one and a half minutes until view was obscured by trees at a farmhouse near the road. When past the trees, the object had moved closer to the road, and seemed to be a bit lower. It appeared that the "saucer" shaped object was rotating, but this effect may have been caused by the lights going around the circumference. The lights appeared to change colors (or rotated). This part of the sighting (fairly close) only lasted a matter of seconds, and then the object left. When the object took off, it made a 90 degree angle (it was going east, then turned sharply south) and was gone in less than a second. It moved so fast that there was a "trail of light" left in the sky. This was observed by me and the other occupant of the vehicle, and later confirmed (to some degree, although the other witnesses weren't as close) by three other people.

49 years old at this time. This event happened either one or two days before my wedding. My wedding took place on 9/19/1975. I am employed in sales and have 1-1/2 yrs of college.
