UFOs are quite popular with the public, not particularly scary. The government, however, is now looking scary and quite disrespectful of the public. UFOs: Government "Coverup" or Government Cooperation

Why is it that there have not been many reports of UFO activity over the United States in recent months or throughout the world for that matter? Has the U.S. government become so paranoid about terrorist activity that there is a ban on the public reporting of any UFO sightings? Certainly there have been enough reports of sightings in the past by creditable and qualified persons such as police officers, commercial airline pilots, military pilots, soldiers, scientists, etc. Whatever became of those reports of sightings? Were thorough investigations ever conducted to verify or debunk these claims? The American public deserves a truthful explanation of these extraordinary events.

Many people believe that these sightings are not UFO in an extra-terrestial sense at all, but in fact expound upon the theory that what is being seen are actually craft produced and experimented with by our own U.S. government. The question that remains is why is this being done and where is the knowledge for such developments coming from? One can only speculate upon an answer. If it is for military purposes then why haven't these supposedly technologically advanced craft been used to help neutralize our enemies? If it is for space technology then why do we continue to rely upon NASA's Space Shuttle program to send people into space? As far as we know more lives have been lost due to Space Shuttle failures than from deaths by UFOs. If we are developing this UFO technology then why do we continue to put astronauts at risk with something as "iffy" as the Space Shuttle? Is the government trying to develop new medical technology? If that is the case then let's get to the solutions for cancer, MS, stroke, heart disease, Parkinson's, and countless hundreds of debilitating diseases that afflict millions in this country and around the world. With such advances in the past twenty-five years with the development of CAT scan machines, MRI machines, radiation therapy, joint replacement procedures, organ replacements, etc. one can only speculate upon the sources and origins of this seemingly "alien" knowledge that produced these technological wonders. In any case why not just tell the U.S. public about future developments in science and medicine?

One can only wonder why every so many years some kind of quantum leap of discovery and development seems to take place in the fields of medicine, research, military science (Stealth for example), space materials, weather predictions, etc. Where has that knowledge suddenly come from? Does the U.S. government have some kind of exchange of information and working relationship with an "alien" and possibly an extra-terrestrial society? If so, this relationship has no doubt been ongoing since the well documented "Roswell Incident" in 1947. Few Americans believe that the whole truth about that incident has as yet been told to the American people. More than likely all that has been told by the U.S. government, about any UFO queries, is nothing more than fabications of truth in order to continue to foster an elaborate "cover up" of what is actually going on with UFO activity. Why hasn't mankind sent anyone back to the Moon in over 35 years? Did we encounter something or someone out there who felt they were being intruded upon and that mankind was told that outer space is a "hands-off" territory? What we did in the ten years of the 1960's has not been duplicated by us in the last thirty-five years. Were our people "smarter" back then? Are our space exploration efforts today being purposely sabotaged by our own government agencies? The incidences of the two Space Shuttle tragedies, the continuing loss of protective tiles on our Space Shuttle by the world's most technologically advanced nation, a breakdown of the Hubble Telescope, a computer "crash" onboard the Space Station seem all too coincidental. Maybe we are being told to "stay out" of outer space.

It certainly makes for interesting speculation and discussion, but until the "powers to be" see fit to share what they know with the American public we will remain totally in the dark about what UFO sightings and stories are all about.

In 1977 or 1978 at Ponce Inlet New Smyrna Beach, Florida, I saw a UFO silently hovering over the water shining a bright light directly into the water, then go straight up at an unbelievable rate of speed. I would estimate it had to be over 1,000 miles an hour. from 0-1,000 mph in a second. I mentioned it to a co-worker a few years later and they said it was in the Daytona News Journal and they had read about it. I was unaware of the article. Does anyone out there remember it?
