Full Description & Details

My friend and I were sat in his garden after a barbecue. We were pretty tired but chatting away, smoking cigars. For some reason we both looked up simultaneously and saw a bright emerald green light (approx. 20 times the size of an ordinary star) that appeared to be quite low in the sky swiftly cut across the sky more or less above our heads. It seemed that as we layed eyes on it it suddenly changed direction: literally (though it is a cliche) at 90 degrees and sped off away from us. It was completely silent and the colour and definition of the light was very, very sharp: there didn't seem to be any atmospheric disturbance (i.e. pollution or pollen or whatever) that blurred it's appearance, leading us to believe (along with it's sheer size) to be quite low. Certainly, I'd say, maybe a third to a half of the normal height of regular cloud cover. We both immediately looked at each other and quite casually confirmed to ourselves that we had just witnessed the passing of aero-technology not commonly known to man. It was very eerie but it did not particularly suprise either of us that we had seen it. I think we're both pretty convinced there's an awful lot out there (human or otherwise) we know nothing about. Witney, Oxfordshire, is also very close to Brize Norton air base, so who knows...

Witness Background

I'm a journalism graduate from london university. I live in oxford at the moment and am working for a small film production company.

Other Comments

People need to stop looking to the government to confirm these sightings or own up to 'undisclosed knowledge'. The government has many responsibilities, admittedly some of them not so noble as others. People need make up their own minds: look at the evidence and draw their own conclusions. And even if they were aliens: so what ? We really need to start making the most of the time we have on this planet, now, without them: the majority of humankind needs to mature, if not outright destroy itself. If you were an alien whizzing around this planet, would YOU want to land and start poking your weird-looking head around corners ? I, personally, would not.
