Full Description & Details

I think it was towards the end of 1984. I was about 11 years old. My mother was driving my brother and I home from basketball training and just before she turned the corner into the main road where we lived in Hawthorn she pulled over. At first my brother Richard and I didn't really pay any attention but soon asked her why she had stopped. At first she said there was no reason, but by then we'd already noticed it. Across the main road (Tooronga Rd.) was a high school and its football oval, grounds etc. were opposite our house, beyond the grounds was a large quarry. Gum trees lined the boundary of the school. There was a bright white light that resembled a star but it was larger over the grounds. It seemed to be perhaps 300 meters away and 100 meters up in the air. It was noisless. It grew during the next few seconds, or may have been coming closer. My mum said not to look at it and was scared. She panicked and started to drive off in fear. She turned left and although our house was the second house on the left she went past it. She said she didn't like the thing and wanted to get away from it. The object seemed to be coming towards us and as we drove by the school football field I saw it transform from a large white sphere to different formations of lights, for example two red ones on one side and a blue one on the other side then to a diamond shape of green and yellow. It seemed to be about 5 meters square although it was amorphorous in that it continually changed. It didn't seem real. We drove down to the supermarket that was about half a mile away and I was looking out the rear window saying "no its still following us". I remember noticing that the street seemed strangely quiet and there seemed to be a complete abscence of any people or any other cars even. There were other cars in the supermarket parking lot, however. My mum waited there in the lot looking up at the sky for a few minutes. We asked what it was and she said she didn't know. I was imploring that we go to the police but she said they wouldn't believe us, they'd think we were mad. She said she thought it was gone and apprehensively drove home. I thought it was gone too, but as we pulled into our driveway it just seemed to appear out of nowhere from over at the football field where it had first been spotted roughly, flew over the road and almost over the car and over the house. Its underside was circular and grey and I distinctly remember there were three balls in a triangular formation in the 'underside of it' imbedded in the main body of the craft. It now appeared for the first time to appear 'solid' and able to be seen concretely. There were also two or three white lights coming off it. It was dusk at this stage. And the next thing I remember was my mum being on the phone and all the lights being out in the house for some reason, (now dark). There was a green light shining in through the back of the house that filled all the rear rooms. My mother was watching through the kitchen window into the back yard. I tried to see but she was almost hysterical in trying to stop me I did however, get a look. It was hovering about a metre above our back shed that was attatched to the back of the house about 7 or 8 metres away it seemed to make a humming noise. It looked as I had seen it over the house with the three "ball" configuration but it emitted green light that sometimes seemed to flash directly at us and then other times would just be immersing the whole area. I wanted to get a toy bow and arrow that I had run outside and fire it at it. I wanted to talk to them and see who was in it and tried to get out the back door but my mum stopped me. I was very annoyed by that and said it wasn't fair. She said they might hurt me, that we didn't know what they wanted, and I said I bet they're friendly. Then it just seemed to end. Its strange because i have very little recollection of what occured after this. i don't remember going to sleep that night even. or really talking about it much at school, (I'm not suggesting missing time neccesarily) however I do remember speaking with my brother about it and my mum, who had very clear recollections of it, however my mother would only say it was something very strange and didn't like talking about it, she would get angry and panicky if pressed. My mother passed away in 1992 but my brother who would have been 9 or 10 still remembers clearly, My mother had mentioned it to her mother who I have spoken to recently about this and she corroberated what had I experienced, saying Marguerite had told her about it in some detail. I intend to make further enquiries among family and friends she may have told to gather more info. I have always wanted to make some sense of this incident, it just doesn't fit into anything, It's almost an abberation. I hope that somehow this story will link with someone elses and illuminate things. My brother, Richard can also reccount this event.
