Full Description & Details

While playing on a playstation in my lounge, my friend suddenly shouted at me to look out of my window, asking "what the hell is that?" i looked up and saw three ball shaped objects equally spaced (i would guess about 75 metres apart) in a diagonal line (about 45 degrees from horizontal) above and beyond the house opposite mine. I had no idea what the objects were as i have never seen anything similar before. After watching the objects for about 20 seconds i ran to the upstairs window (my friend following) in order to get a better view. The objects appeared as yellowish white glowing balls, no other detail was visible, and were moving quite slowly across the sky while remaining the same distance apart from each other and at the same approximate 45 degrees from horizontal. I would estimate that the objects were approximately 2 miles away (perhaps less) at an altitude of 700-1000 feet. Assuming this to be correct i would estimate their individual size as 30 feet in diameter (each object was equal in size). I would like to point out that i have a lot of experience observing aircraft due to my work. I am a Safety Manager for an offshore oil company and my position encompasses Helicopter Landing Officer, so i am familiar with aircraft lights on crafts approaching from various directions at differing levels of daylight and i have never before witnessed anything resembling these objects, nor has my friend. We watched the objects for approximately 5 minutes as they moved slowly away at a constant speed. For reference, it was normal daylight hours and the sky was clear during this period.

Neither myself or my friend felt comfortable telling anyone about this at the time as we felt that people would simply think that we must have seen something else. As time has passed we have recently discussed this with several close friends, however, i have been keen to point out that i can not make any asumption as to what the objects were, i can simply say that they are unexplainable to me.
