Full Description & Details

It was broad daylight with a blue sky. I had gone outside following dinner to check on a puppy I had tied up while we ate. I happened to look up and was startled to see the flying disc traveling slowly. It was about a 1/4 mile away and several hundred feet in the air. I extended my arm and sighted on my thumb to get an approximate size. As I did this the craft did a 90 degree turn away from me and shot toward Burlington at an astonishing speed or just disappeared. The next day the Burlington County Times printed two sighting reports. Two police officers fom Burlington Township traveling in their police car reported it as well as a couple traveling over the Burlington Bristol Bridge observed it hovering over the Public Service Electric Generating Plant near the Bridge on the Delaware River. I saved the article but it was lost in our move to where we now live near Vincentown, NJ. On two occasions I visited the Burlington County Library and used their microfiche newspaper records to no avail as there were entire missing editions of the Burlington County Times. I clearly remember the year and the time frame as we were in the process of having our current home built and were renting the house in Mt. Holly in the interim. At the time, 1966, you were ridiculed if you reported seeing a UFO , so I kept quiet about it. Also, I was the Burlington County 4-H Club Agent and didn't want to jepordize my job or family. I would like to know if you are aware of these sightings.

Witness Background

At the time of the sighting I was the Burlington County 4-H Club Agent employed by Burlinton County and Rutgers University. I retired in 1994 from the Willingboro School system having worked as science teacher, guidance counselor, and The Evening High School principal from 1968 to my retirement. I have a Master's Degree in Administration.

I realize this is an old sighting but the image of the UFO I saw is as clear in my mind as if it were just yesterday. I would like to hear from you if you know anything about this sighting or other sightings around this time(1966).
