Full Description & Details

When I encountered this pulsation of spirals at the intersection of Lower and Sheffler Roads, it was a slightly foggy night, and the lights appeared to be on the other side of thin clouds. I stopped and watched it for a while thinking they were kleig lights for a party. The lights stayed to my left as I wound around hairpin turns on Sheffler to Cosh roads. I was alarmed as this is all fields, no roads that a vehicle could have driven on with lights projecting up. Then I realized the lights were beaming down from above as they pulsed about every 3-4 seconds from the center. It looked to be about 1/4 mile high and about 70-80 feet in diameter.

I became more alarmed as I realized it kept pace with me as I went left on 284 and made the right onto Main St. I stopped in front of the post office and the lights hung there. I was panicked as I pulled into my driveway 2 blocks up. I was afraid to get out of my car as the lights pulsed over my back yard. I ran into the house and checked the windows periodically for about 5 minutes and it was still there. I have seen similar lights but not as spectacular 6 times since. The next time was the following Spring of 01 when I saw them leaving my father's in Mountainside NJ, and was able to see them from Rt. 22 until Kenilworth. It was Easter sunday night. I have not kept track of the subsequent dates unfortunately. Then the follwing Spring I had an arc of pulsating light accompany me home in the rain at 11:30 pm I was glad to see it and stepped out to be with them in my back yard. It gradually faded in intensity but lasted about 20 minutes or more total. Last Feb. 2004 I saw them one Thursday night over Great Gorge Resort in Vernon NJ. My friend and I were in an outdoor pool, and she saw them but thought it was some kind of a party attraction lights. This was a circle of spirals seen at a distance of 1-2 miles away at 9:30 pm. As before it appeared to be a flat projection from above but this time of about 6 spirals. Then I saw this same version two more times, this past June in the distance between Unionville and Sussex and it lasted about 15 minutes as I walked a friend home at about 10 pm. The last time I saw these lights was at 11:45 pm at the end of last Summer one weeknight driving home. They were on the South side of Rt 284 as I drove West toward Unionville approaching Westtown.
