Appearance / Description of Object(s)White ball with a comet-like hazy tale. The object resembled what I remember hale-bopp looking like, only several times larger and moving fast enough to cross the sky in a few minutes. Size of Object(s)I have no idea what actual size was, but it was 5 or 6 times the diameter of the appearance of Mars on the southwest horizon. Description of Area / SurroundingsI was in an urban area, in Scottsdale, AZ, heading toward downtown Phoenix. Full Description & DetailsIn the western sky, around 7:20pm, there was a long dense trail of smoke or cloud that zig-zagged across the sky. At the head of this trail of smoke was a white ball that appeared to be heading southeast. The white ball had a hazy tail immediately behind it, giving it an appearance similar to a comet. The white ball seemed to burn out when it got closer, and the trail of smoke started to dissipate. Traffic around us stopped to look up to see what it was. I thought it might be a meteor or perhaps government missle testing over the pacific ocean but we really have no idea and would like to find out what it was. If you have any information could you please forward?
