Could just see the lights, we were far away.

probably around 10 - 15 miles away, couldn't judge the height, but it looked pretty low.

very rural, cell phones don't even work there. Lots of bush. Only one highway through the area. Like I stated earlier, there is a power plant around there.

We watched them because they were in in formation, what looked like a letter em. The bottom light on the left hand side looked as if it came down for awhile, then it took up a new position at the bottom right side of the em. There were 9 in total and each one took their turn at coming down. We asked around and there is a power plant up there in that area. We watched them for what seemed to be a very long time. When we got back to camp it was breaking daylight. The really freaky part came a few years later, when I was watching a show on TV about UFO sightings, there was a picture of a ufo from the bottom and the lights were exactly what the pattern we had seen that night.

Whilst my brother and I were walking in the hills around Folkestone Kent we sighted two sphere shaped objects travelling at high speed at considerable altitute. The objects must have been large to have been so visible at great distance. Our sighting was more or less confirmed the following day when local newspapers cited many UFO sightings over the English Channel. Folkestone is only 22 miles from the French coastline and is the location for cross channel swimming.

No - If there had only been one object I would have considered a meteorology weather baloon

They looked like faint still stars at first. They could've easily passed off as stars, but being that I looked at the night sky all the time, I noticed they seemed out of place, I've never noticed them before. Then they slowly moved closer together and in a straight line kind of like this ...... They became brighter, slightly brighter than how the planet Mars looks in the night sky. Then they faded slightly and completely disappeared.

They looked pretty far away, they looked like stars. I can't even guess how big they were, I know that the line probably stretched about 4 inches, compared to the actual size of my hand.

Not really sure, possibly few hundred to thousands of feet high? Several miles away.

Bakersfield City area. There is a stretch of oil fields located in the direction that the lights were seen.

It was sometime between 9:00pm and 9:30pm when my boyfriend and I were standing in my driveway looking at the stars. We were just taking in the moment when in the NorthEast sky there were approximately 5 or six lights that looked likes stars at first. They were in the shape of a W and very still for about 20 seconds, then my boyfriend and I noticed they were moving. They moved closer together and into a straight line and then they became brighter, possibly closer to us, right before they faded and disappeared. This happened over a duration from anywhere between 30 seconds to maybe a minute.

No, my boyfriend and I went through numerous possibilities, such as planes, jets, etc. And none fit the lights we saw that night.

It was like two "V" on of top of each other and rotated on its axis 45 degress or so, no lights absolutely silent, only lit by the city lights 3 storys below.

We live in the penthouse of a 4 story building, the sorrounding buildings are the same heigh, we had lights off and only the street lights were on. The sky was clear and no moon, stars were very visible, looking north.

I was staring at the stars tonight (1am) with my wife in our apartment's terrace when we both saw an object like this passing by our heads and great speed, it came from our building's top and lost sight on the top of the building at the other side of the street . It was silent and no lights were seen, it was yellow-grey, only lit by the city lights. It was not flying high and didnt look very big, maybe 20 meters wingspan at 200m height. The sight lasted for 3-4 seconds.

It followed a very straight path (north to south-east) until we lost it on a neighbour 5 story builduing on our back (we were sitting, almost horizontal on one of this low long chairs). The two "V" were bended on its axis. We both cannot explain what we saw by any human made object. Our first impression was that it could have been a delta wing but it was impossible that was flying at that high speed and at night.

We avoided to say "UFO" until no other explanation was found because we don´t feel confortable about the idea, one of my greatest fears as a child was the vinyl my father had of the OST of "war of the worlds", so I would prefer to think about any other idea than I had an UFO flying over my head tonight.

no, it was too fast and emitted no sound at all, no lights at night and followed a perfectly straight path

I love astronomy and follow every space exploration mission, I am an electronics engineer and love all the science and engineering behind them. But I don´t feel confortable about the idea of UFOs, I have this "war of the worlds" idea of extraterrestial visitors. I cannot deny that the possibilities of alien life are bigger that the idea of us being the only beings of this universe, but I am not willing to contact them or be witness of such contact, just for the risk of being in the hands of beings from another world.
