In the spring of 1971, I drove to a neighborhood 7/11 convenience store near Wedgewood Golf Course west of Winston-Salem, NC. I looked up and saw a large (tennis court size) purple cloud that was moving parallel with the street. It appeared to follow along as I drove the short distance to the store. This boiling purple mist or cloud thing flew over the 7/11 as I parked my car. I jumped out of my car to watch it as it floated across homes and fields nearby and disappeared into the night sky. Several people at the store saw it. I remember watching them stop for a moment and then continue on their way. One man in particular looked over at me and mumbled something, got in his car and drove away. Strangely, no one got particularly upset about it.

I've often thought about it and what it could have been. Was this cloud shrouding a UFO? Swamp gas isn't a possibility. It seemed to boil and billow and was a rich dark purple that was unbelievably bright against the darkened night sky. Maybe it was lit from within.

It sure would be nice to hear if somebody else saw this. Thanks.

This was not man-made nor have I ever heard of anything like it.

Yes, I have a comment to add. I would like to send a big "shout" down to the US Government for not telling the truth about UFO's. I'm assuming it must be bad news. I just hope the idiots can handle this better than other debacles we are witnessing, ie., Iran, environment, health care, the list goes on and on.

8.30 PM STANDING WAITING FOR A BUS WITH MY PARTNER, ANOTHER WITNESS SAW THIS ALSO BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A PLANE, EVEN THOUGH THE PLANES THAT WERE FLYING FROM EAST MIDLANDS WERE LEAVING VAPOUR TRAILS.

CLEAR BLUS SKIES, FEW CLOUDS, WAS FACING NORTH WAITING FOR BUS, I HAD MY SUNGLASSES ON AND SAW A VERY BRIGHT ORANGE LIGHT, I KNEW IT WAS NOT AN AEROPLANE AS IT WAS TOO BRIGHT AND WAS NOT MOVING.

THE BRIGHT ORANGE LIGHT THEN DISSAPPEARED AND REAPPEARED MUCH CLOSER, IT THEN FADED AND DISAPEARED.

IT THEN REAPPEARED BLACK AND WAS MOVING HORIZONTAL.

WE LIVE NEAR EAST MIDLANDS AIRPORT AND REGULARLY SEE AEROPLANES, THIS DID NOT MOVE R LOOK LIKE AN AEROPLANE.

I couldn't make out the object due to distance but the light that came off of what was propelled was a bright white light that later turned into a blue shade. Then it no longer seemed to climb but only vanish.

I saw what initially to me looked like a shuttle launch. It only lasted a couple of seconds. As soon as i noticed i pointed it out to a friend and made sure he saw the same thing. Something was taking off but i couldn't make out what it was. Once it reached a certain height it just kinda vanished but the trail of the light remained. It was the brightest light i had ever seen. I don't know much about a space shuttle launch or any other type of launch but the trail that was left sure as hell was not a smoke trail like you see on TV. And the sun wasn't out yet so if it would have been smoke you wouldn't have been able to see it anyway. I later noticed a similar light trail to the east of the initial sighting. This was previously blocked by a building but as i moved to get a better look at the first sighting i noticed it.

Object 1 = silver saucer shape that seems to be spinning. Object 2 = from a distance looks like a large star, but once zoomed in it looks like a big colorful ball of light that is pulsing and growing in size.

Saw a ball of light off the coast of Newport Beach and between Catalina Island just sitting there. Watched it sit in the same place for about an hour and thought that anything with a fuel cell would be worry about running out. It stayed there perfectly in place during this time and I new that something was out of the ordinary about it. I grabbed my video camera and zoomed in and low and behold this object is definitly strange. I filmed it for about another 30 minutes to an hour and wondered if another country might be doing intelligence on our military bases along the Southern California coast. So, I called the Coast Guard to investigate this object. While on the phone I could see the Coast Guard ship going in the wrong direction as I had instructed them to go and advised the person on the phone to have them change direction. Only a second after the ship changed course to intercept this object it all of a sudden did a "Z" pattern in the sky at incredible speeds and at turning abilities that no man made vehicle could reproduce. The object did a couple of these and then went down to just above the water and left at incredible speeds It very well could have disappeared into the water, but did not see that. I still have the video and all of my friends think it is a U.F.O. out of this world. I also have filmed a big ball of light that seems to pulse and grow in size. The colors are really cool and it looks like a nucleus of a cell under a microscope in the video. I recently saw a program on U.F.O. Files and the U.S.O.'s. I saw white and amber colored lights over the water while visiting St. George Island, Florida, in 2005. The lights flashed in the sky, moved direction in an instant and showed up somewhere else in the sky. These incidents occurred 2 nights in a row last August.

It was late and in Tennessee weird things happen at night. My sister and I were out for a romantic walk together. We had just run into my dad and my aunt who were parked on Lover's lane. Since that spot was taken we decided to go up the hill, which is when we spotted the large object in the setting sun. At first I thought it was cloud and that it would go away. But it just kept getting closer which is when we realized it was a UFO.

I was about 10 years old and waiting for my mother to finish choir practice at our church. It was nighttime and I was bored, so I went to play on the sidewalk next to the the church hall with my sister. I was looking above the church steeple and noticed what I thought to be a shooting star. I called out to my then 6 year old sister to look at the shooting star. Now right there I knew something was unusual as shooting stars last seconds, a blink of the eye. But this "shooting star" was going slow enough for me to call out to my sister and her to look up and me to say something along the lines of "Oh my God!". It changed in color very rapidly, it seemed to glow all the colors in the rainbow and then in a flash, it was gone. We were so petrified, we started banging on the church hall door (which had locked behind us) to be let back in. Something about the whole experience really shook us up. I'd never seen anything like it and never have since.

Maybe a comet? I checked the news for a week after hoping it would be explained, but saw no mention of a comet or even a meteor shower.
