UFO Sighting Reports > Full Text View (multiple)

Date:

October, 10, 2005

Location:

Victor, Montana, United States

Summary:

Two silver disk ships (approx. 40 feet in diameter and about 5000 feet off the ground) flew East to West over the Bitterroot Valley Moving slowly following each other on a clear sunny day.

Date Reported:

10/11/2005 3:07:53 AM

Sighting Time:

3:50 p.m.

Day/Night:

Daytime

No. of Witnesses:

1+

Duration:

10 seconds

Appearance / Description of Object(s)

Silver metallic in color, very shiny and disk shaped. When they didn't sway back and forth you could only see a thin dark outline that looked like a thin object in the distance. If you took a large piece of thick metal and threw it like a frisbee, that is pretty much how you can describe the object, thin when level and round when it was on its side. However, these objects didn't come down and flew in formation.

Size of Object(s)

Approx. 40 feet in diameter and 5 to 7 feet high. About the size of a dime as it popped up on its side. Both were the same size.

Description of Area / Surroundings

Urban, populated. Nothing special here except a lot of cows and horses. Mountainous area, but the bitterroot is a large valley between two mountain ranges.

Full Description & Details

While driving home with a load on my truck on highway 93 going south from Stevensville about 3:50 p.m. I noticed something flashing in the sky and as I watched (while trying to stay on the road) I noticed two objects I thought were planes for a second moving East to West over the Bitterroot Valley near Bear Creek (Victor area) until a second later they both swayed back and forth and the following disk popped up on its side to reveal a shiny metallic surface that reflected the sun, not as bright like a mirror, but reflecting enough sunlight with a bright blue grey reflection (like cobalt metal with a bright light shined on it is exactly what it looked like) that came from the whole area of the craft. It was on its side for about 2 seconds as it still moved forward following the other. That is when I saw it was a disk shaped and that it was not an airplane. When they were level they were more of a thin dark line in the sky with no shiny reflection from their sides (that I could see anyway from my angle).

They were moving at about 150 miles per hour (about the same speed as a small airplane or a little faster in the last few seconds I saw them go into the valley.)

The day was clear and sunny, not a cloud in sight.

The whole sighting lasted about 10 seconds since I only caught the last part of them before they entered the mountains, but while I was watching them a few other drivers were also pulling their cars over and looking up at the sky . I am sure with such a large object and its shiny surface many others in the bitterroot valley saw the same thing if they happened to be paying attention.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Frisbee at 5000 feet.. maybe.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I read a few articles about them and wasn't selfish about the idea God didn't make this huge universe just for the people on earth, so I am sure there are millions of different races roaming around looking for something to do.

Other Comments

Most people here that have lived here for a long time will say they have seen many sightings here, but don't want to talk about it with law enforcement or any other agency. They just keep it to themselves and tell their stories among friends. There are those who even have seen crafts land in their fields at times, but won't report it for fear others would think they were nuts. Makes sense to me.

Full Description & Details

The Odessa Event

100 ft diameter disk shape, dome top. The color was stainless steel. It made no sound.

I sent a report about the ufo in Odessa yesterday Sept. 12. You sent an email back saying you want detailed information. I said I was a slow typer, so my little sister said she would type the complete event.

I had worked real hard that day for the state highway dept. and I was tired, so I took a nap when I got home. This was a clear summer day, and all the events occurred in the daylight. My grandmother lived in the southwest part of the city of Odessa. As I was taking a nap, she called my wife. She said, have Stanley go out and look, because there is a ufo heading your way. I lived west of town out in the country. There weren't many houses out there at that time. When I awoke, I sat and thought about it a minute, and thought my grandmother is very serious. She doesn't tease. I decided to get up and go outside and look for the ufo. First I looked toward town and saw nothing, which would have been back toward the east. Then I turned and looked toward the north and south and saw nothing. When I turned and looked toward the west, there it was. Above the radio tower, about 1 mile from my house. My wife and I got very excited, because we knew it was probably an alien ship. It made no sound. [And, as the witness added later, there was no rotation of the UFO.] About this time, my brother in law and big sister who lived about 2 streets over came flying around the corner in their car. They were hollering out of their window as they approached, saying "do you see it, do you see it?". When they got out of their car, of course all four of us were excited, and I don't remember what we said at the moment. We had no camera and they had no camera, and I ran to the neighbors house to borrow a camera and they weren't home. Then as we watched it, we were all amazed and I said, wait a minute, I think that's a radio tower! So I went to my car, I turned the radio on and started scanning all of the channels. Then in our amazement, we came across a station, and my wife said it was KBZB, to the best of her memory. But of course you have to realize this was about 32 years ago. We were really shocked when we heard the disc jockey saying that they had a ufo above their radio tower causing static. So we kept listening to his reports and watching the ufo, and I decided to go inside and look up the phone number of that radio station. I did get the disc jockey, and I don't remember his name. I did ask him if his radio tower was out on west university and he said, yes that's our radio tower. I said, we're looking at the ufo that you're talking about. I don't remember what else I said at the momet, but in a little while I hung up and went back outside with everybody else. Already the ufo had been over the tower about 20 to 25 minutes. My brother and law and I started having the discussion of driving to the ufo, which was about 1 mile from my house. So we tried getting to the tower by going down different dirt roads and couldn't reach it from that direction. So we drove to the main highway, which is west University and found a road which led to a little road which goes to the radio tower. Whether or not the ufo would have interefered with the elctric system of the car, I do not know because we killed the car and stopped at the beginning of the little road that led to the ufo. We were probably about a half mile, maybe a little farther, from the ufo. The color of the ufo was a stainless steel. My brother in law and I sat there and started having the discussion of whether or not to drive up to the ufo, which we could have done. We actually decided not to drive under the ufo, because we thought we might get a flight we did not want. I don't recall what we said during the time we sat there but gradually the ufo moved from the radio tower to the north, it made a 90 degree turn and drifted off toward the west, out of sight. We drove back to my house and they were no longer reporting the ufo on the radio station. I called the radio station again and got the same disc jockey and said, why did you stop reporting about the ufo, and he said that the government told them to shut it down or lose their license. He said, I will tell you something else though. Our electrician went out there to check on why we were having static, and when he got back he was so excited and disturbed that we had to take him to the hospital to get him a hypo to calm him down. He said there were hyroglyphics on the bottom of the ufo. So I hung up after that discussion and later on I called him back one more time and he said one of the t.v. stations had pictures of a ufo above the street lights on west university at night and the government confiscated their pictures and told them to be quite or lose their license. He said that he didn't want to talk about it anymore, because he was afraid he would get in trouble. This completes my version the best I remember of this event, and it is the truth. There were five witness, and I have thier names and occupations on the original report

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

No, this was a UFO.I would be willing to take truth Sirum or a lie detector if it were needed. Besides I am a chrisian.

As described above:

Description of Area / Surroundings

There were high tension wire tower's.Desert landscape. No significant feature's or site's.as described early in my sighting, summit valley road was paved in 2004.Other than that nothing.

Full Description & Details

In AUGUST 2001,0800,i was comming down the drive-way of a home that i was living at,at the time.I was a little more than half-way down the drive when i suddenly observed a very sparkling white 4-door honda sedan ascending the drive-way opposite of me.

As i pulled to the side to allow the other vehicle to pass,i observed (4) individual's inside the vehicle. The driver, very oddly,in a mere instant looked and waved at me then turned it's attention back to it's driving.

I was approaching the end of the drive-way by then.At the time i had a toyota 4-wheel drive truck and it had a xtra-cab so that i could see out the side of the window that was there. There wasn't any way that the suspect vehicle could have gotten,or eluded me in any-way.

I made sure that ikept my vehicle blocking the drive-way the whole time that i was making a u-turn,instead of backing-up and therfore leaving a gap so that the suspect vehicle couldn't get pass,or around me at all.

As i started my ascent up the drive-way i couldn't see any sparkling white (4)door honda sedan in a 360' scope of the landscape any where!!! I went back up to the ranch house to ask the owner if he had seen or heard any vehicle approach the house. He had said "no" he had not.

There's (3)exit's on the ranch,(1) AT THE S/W corner of the property.(2)N/E corner of the property.(3)north drive-way leading out to the main road(SUMMIT-VALLEY RD) There wasn't any time for any vehicle,or anything to get by me(all of the road's contained on the property all intersect at the drive-way in the middle of the drive-way in the upper E/S of the ranch house.)

THESE ARE THE CLOSER OBSERVATION'S I MADE DURING THE TIME LASPE:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1)THE ODD HAND AND BODY GESTURE OF THE BEING DRIVING.

2)THE FACT THAT AFTER DRIVING ON A DUSTY AND WASHBOARD ROAD FOR 3MILES AND NOT HAVING THE SLIGHTEST PARTICLE OR SPECT OF DUST ON THE CHROME OR WINSHEILD WAS VERILY WEIRD!!!

3)I ALSO NOTICED THAT AS THE VEHICLE WAS ROLLING ALONG,THAT ALL FOUR TIRE'S WERE SOPTLESS AND DUST-FREE,NOT ONLY THAT! BUT THEY WERE EVEN MAKING CONTACT WITH THE GROUND!!!

4)THE DESCRIPTION OF THESE'S BEING'S WERE THE SAME AS DEPICTED IN STEPHAN WOLFE'S BOOK "CATCHER'S FROM HEAVEN" THERE'S A PHOTO OF A NORDIC ON THE BACK COVER OF THE BOOK.

5)IT WAS 0800 WHEN THIS ALL SUDDENLY HAPPENED,WHEN I CONTINUED ON THE MAIN ROAD IT WAS 0801!!! I COULD BELIVE THAT THE ENCOUNTER LASTED ONLY A MINUTE!!!

I know there's alot more to report on this incident, but i just can't remeber what else took place,or if any-thing! I'd sure would like to find out.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

Witness Background

At the time of the sighting i had my own bussiness landscaping.

Summary:

Triangular formation of points of light moving east to west at approximately 4:30 a.m. After 20 seconds the object(s) zig-zagged very rapidly and then then disappeared in a straight line at a very high rate of speed in northwest direction.

Duration:

30 seconds

Appearance / Description of Object(s)

Five points of light in triangular formation (none blinking). Color was white with magnitude that of a little less than Jupiter and closer to Saturn when viewed with naked eye.

Size of Object(s)

I could not estimate exact size but with my arm stretched out in front of me, my middle and index finger together would cover the object

Description of Area / Surroundings

Area was urban (business/factory zoned), but object was seen in northeast sky probably 20-30 miles further north. The only known special sight in that direction (which I did not know at the time) is Selfridge Air Base.

Full Description & Details

It was the early morning hours (approx. 4:30 am) in August, 1978. I worked in isolated area of a dairy plant. I was sitting on steps outside my work area which faced north. I observed what appeared to be military jets flying in a triangular formation (about five points of light with lead light and two down each side to form the triangle. I assumed there were five "distinct" objects moving in what would be a normal speed for jets at high altitude. It was very quiet at that time of the morning, and found it strange that I could not hear the usual sound associated with jets (i.e the faint echo of the engines), nor see the usually familiar blinking lights. I could not tell the exact altitude, but would assume that these "jets" were at normal cruise altitude. Other than these observations, nothing else appeared strange until after viewing the object(s) for 15-20 seconds. At that time, the object(s) began to zig-zag very quickly for 2-3 seconds and then took off in a northwesterly direction at an extremely high rate of speed. It was at this point that I realized that it was not jet aircraft because nothing I had ever seen could move that fast. In addition, I also concluded that it was a single object that I viewed and not five distinct objects (assuming that five aircradt could not move that fast in a synchronized fashion).

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

I thought that maybe these lights were caused by a spotlight which would obvioulsy be ground based (the kind seen in store openings). However, there was no noticeable beams shining up to that area and given the time of day would have been unlikely. I would have thought nothing of the object other than jets flying in formation, until the zig-zag and speed it left the area.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I have also been interested in space studies, but not particularly in UFOs. I once did a term paper for a writing class on UFOs, but was never much more interested than the average person. I was 19 years old when I saw the object, and have not seen anything like it since then. I have been to northern Michigan many times and have been able to observe satellites cruising overhead because of the clearness of the sky. However, the object I saw in August 1978 was not a satellite or any type of military aircraft in my opinion. what the object was I can't say for sure and still wonder to this day. I believe the universe is vast enough to support other forms of life (even intelligent life). I am also aware of the great distances involved in any space travel betwen even the closest stars to our planet. However, I'm also aware over the last 25 years that we are learning that there is so much unknown about the universe, that to discount anything would be short-sighted. The universe has now been dated to around 14 billion years and our solar system is only 4.3 billion years old. The possibilities of other universes and dimensions seems to be accepted by the astrophysics community (I subscribe to Discover magazine to keep up on science subjects). I can't say that what I saw was something from "outer space", but I also can't believe it was anything from this planet. Since that time, I don't discount the UFO phenomena that people experience and automatically label all of the hoaxes. I think some experiences really can't be explained and probably never will.

Summary:

While waiting for my high school bus by my house I saw a shinny object roughly 1km and a half west and about 1km in the air from where I was standing. It moved very slowly northward and was too low to be a commercial airline- it also did not give off any cloud trail. It was too high up to and moving too slowly to be a low flying 2 seater plane.

Daytime

No. of Witnesses:

0 (none that I know of)

Duration:

3 to 5 minutes

Appearance / Description of Object(s)

It was maybe 20 to 50 feet wide. It was shinny and sliver colored but the underside of it was darker- i assumed this was because the sun could only reflect fully off of the exposed part of the object. It was flat and slightly oval shaped. It was bigger than a 2 seater plane, but way smaller than a commercial jet.-

Size of Object(s)

With my arms stretched out the UFO would be about 1cm between my fingers. Maybe 20 to 50 feet wide since it was in my estimation a bit more than 1km away.

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

Roughly 1 and a half km away, and 1 km in the air.

Description of Area / Surroundings

Fesserton is a rural area- Its a small highway town with a population less than 100 people. On Fesserton Side road the area turns to forest and going northwood.. into bush and dirt roads. The craft was overlooking houses in the area but was clearly in the area where forest was present. The only thing of interest I could think of would be the 400 series HWY that was about 2 km west of where I was standing. The HWY is a major roadway- for going to Toronto for example. (4 lanes of traffic)

Full Description & Details

Roughly 7:50am At the time of the sighting I was 15 years old and in grade 10. I was also waiting by the bus stop alone.

While waiting for my high school bus I saw a shinny object roughly 1 or 2 km west and about 1km in the air from where I was standing. I always waited on the courner of highway 12 and Fesserton Side Road (my house being about 1km to the west of fesserton side road). I estimated the object to NOT be right above my house.. but atlease half a km behind in the air.

Id enjoy looking at planes and that, but this time things seemed a lot different. The sky was perfectly blue and clear. No other planes or aircraft of any kind could be seen. It moved very slowly northward and I watched it until my bus came. I was able to see it for about 3 to 5 minutes. In the time I was looking at it I estimate that it only moved about 120 meters.. 200 meters at the absolute max.

It was too low to be a commercial airline because I could make out the size of it easily. It was maybe 20 to 50 feet wide. It was shinny but the underside of it was darker- i assumed this was because the sun could only reflect fully off of the exposed part of the object. It was flat and slightly oval shaped. It was bigger than a 2 seater plane, but way smaller than a commercial jet.- It also did not give off any cloud trail and it was obviously moving WAY too slow to be a plane. It was not a helicopter either since the object made no noise that I could hear from so close. It was too high up and moving too slowly to be a low flying 2 seater plane (i would usually see 2 seater planes flying all over the area). It was WAY too close to the ground and moving too slowly to be a commercial jet. Basically the thing was in a spot in the sky that I had never seen another type of place fly. And again.. it only moved about 120 to 200 meters over a 3 to 5 minute time period.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

The object was moving= stars, planets. The moon could also be seen at the same time in the sky, but to the left. SO it was not the moon! The object was clearly about 1 km from the ground= not a satellite. I dont knw much about weather balloons but the object was not a ball or ballon of any kind. It was flat, rounded, and disc shaped. And ive already explained why I think it was not a regular tour guide plane or commercial plane.

Witness Background

By Law officer, Criminal Justice 4th year in University, worked as a cook for 5 years in a fine dinning restaurant.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

Before the sighting I had watched movies like Fire in the Sky and I believed in Aliens. However I was more concerned with aliens themselves and not what their crafts might look like- I thought when I was seeing it that it could be a UFO- Actually i wanted it to be one. But I was not about to rule out all possibilities just to say it was. Its movement was WAY WAY too slow to be any kindof plane at that close to the ground. To me its unexplained, and since it resembled a conventional UFO, thats what I thought it was. No place or helicopter moved that slowly and looked LIKE a silver flat and rounded object. Years later after educating myself through the internet I am certain that what I saw was a grey alien style ship. The sport model maybe!

MFR: UFOs

Having observed UFOs on two different occasions in Phu Bai, Vietnam in early 1970, and having pondered their appearance, speed, agility, over the past thirty five years, wondering just what they were, or are, all about, I have come to a conclusion:

Basically, that conclusion is that the alien visitors, using their UFOs to get here, are actually our distant descendents, from some remote time in the future of the human race. They are here among us because they have conquered the science of time travel. They therefore appear and disappear in our time and space, they cannot, yet, stay here because they are of a different time and space domain, so can only briefly visit our domain.

It appears that they are experimenting with the genetics and reproduction of living creatures here on earth, given that incidents of human abduction and cattle mutilation have been related to UFO visits. One account given by a lady from Texas states that over the course of many abductions a two month pregnancy was terminated when the fetus was removed from her womb and twelve years later she was allowed to meet her child, a cross-bred girl who closely resembled her is appearance. In my opinion, this and other similar abductees information provides a basis for the belief that the visitors had somehow lost their ability to reproduce, or at least to produce strong and healthy offspring. It may be that the alien ‘Grays’ that are so frequently seen in illustrations of abductors, may in fact be some form of automaton, specifically created for a mission across time domains to gather vital materials and to conduct unique biological experiments. Another account reports that a male abductee was taken aboard a space vehicle and made to have sex with an alien female. These abduction encounters seem to be limited to approximately two hours, which lends credence to the probability that these beings cannot exist in our space-time domain for an extended period of time.

Another obvious question is ‘How do they travel across space-time domains?’ We know of no technology for doing so – time travel is only postulated in our science fiction writing. There is no propulsion system known to us, which can propel a vehicle at speed of 7,200 miles per hour, as UFOs have been tracked at on radar. How can they do this?

A few indicators exist. The young South American tractor driver who was taken aboard to have sex with an alien suffered sever radiation burns on the inner side of his left arm, and there have been numerous other reports of increased radiation levels detected at sites where UFOs have been observed to land. Based on these reports it is probably safe to assume that the builders of these craft have harnessed atomic, or possibly sub-atomic, energy as a power source, far beyond anything we have yet managed to achieve. Having observed these vehicles on two separate occasions, I can state that they are definitely not powered by any form of rocket fuel or any other combustible fuel source. They move much too quietly and effortlessly for that. Their movement through space can only be compared with the silent interaction observed when two magnets are brought near each other. Is it possible that these craft are somehow deriving their propulsion from our earth’s magnetic field? I consider this to be a strong possibility.

Let us assume, for the sake of discussion, that they have tapped into the planetary magnetic fields as a propulsion force. This would allow them to possibly skip, or jump, from one planet to another, like an earth-bound frog skipping from one Lilly pad to the next, and the next, and so on, tapping the field of each planet as they go. Such a technique could provide not only interplanetary travel, but also intergalactic travel, given that a sufficient course could be planned or known ahead of time.

Of possible significance is one of my own observations, witnessed by a fellow Warrant Officer, when a UFO traversed the southern hemisphere night sky appearing to be at about 60,000 feet above ground level and traveling smoothly from our right to our left quadrants. We both noted that the orange-glowing point of light was obviously a satellite, and being trained intelligence officers, we wondered what type it might be. Much to our surprise when this light reached our front quadrant it executed a clear and concise ninety degree turn and proceeded on a track up the sky tangential to its original horizontal path. As we watched, agape, it proceeded to the right-most star in the constellation Orion and when it got near that star it turned to the right, tracing a semicircular path around that body. Clearly it was, for some reason known only to its pilot, it chose to circumvent that star of Orion. Shortly after this maneuver the craft appeared as a steady, slowly disappearing point of light in the sky above the belt of Orion.

My compatriot, who had served in the U.S. Air Force prior to transferring to the Army Security Agency, insisted that we not tell anyone of our UFO sighting, believing that others might think we were deranged, which could put our security clearances at risk. Conversely, I sought out several fellow officers in whom I had great trust, related the incident and invited them to join me that next night in a night time UFO observation party. Six of them showed up at dark on the road just south of our BOQ (Bachelors Officer Quarters). We spent about half an hour observing the stars and seeing no signs of any UFO activity. Suddenly, a yell went up as an orange pulsating light appeared over the southern horizon, which flew directly toward us, soundlessly, at a very high rate of speed. It disappeared from our sight behind a nearby corrugated steel warehouse building standing about fifty feet to our immediate left. The craft thus passed us at approximately one hundred feet distance, about 50 feet above the ground.

There are also two other beliefs that resulted from these experiences. First, over time I have come to believe that the UFOs or the aliens themselves practice a form of mind control, which deteriorates over time. For at least ten years after the sightings described above, I seldom if ever, remembered their happening without someone else bringing up the subject of UFO sightings or activities. Only then would the PhuBai incidents come to mind, very unlike other memorable occurrences in my life. Secondly, based on the maneuvers of their craft upon being noticed, I am convinced that their pilots somehow know when they are being observed, and they then take evasive action, disappearing from view as soon as possible.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

No man-made objects have the maneuverability and speed displayed by these craft.

Witness Background

Career military intelligence analyst and reporter, 20 years Army Security Agency, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3rd Class, MOS 982A. 25 years as a Systems Engineer and Senior Certified Systems Architect with IBM, Loral and Lockheed-Martin. Retired in March of 1999.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

Thought I would only believe if/when I saw one myself.

Other Comments

Also saw a white elogated board shaped object floating above my cousin's house in upstate NY when very young, perhaps 5 or 6 yrs old. Very clearly visable in a bright blue sky my cousin and I rushed into his house to tell his mother, but when we came back out it had disappeared. This would have been around the summer of 1943, maybe earlier.

Full Description & Details

Let me tell you that I lost a little bit of belive in sightings, they all seemed to be hoaks. I'd seen some (not many, only about 2 or 3) unusual things in the night skies in the past, but thougt they were just satellites. That was 'till this event happend.

I was shopping at the local SAMS CLUB around 730 PM with my girlfriend. We got a little hungry so we decided to grab a bite in the snack area (outside the store). We were sitting at a table near a tall window when suddenly I noticed something in the evening sky. My girlfriend was telling me about her day but I wasn't really paying attention because of the objects that caught my eye, so I got up and walked towards the window. At first I thougt "it's only 3 black balloons that drifted away", but as I kept watching the objects didn't move an inch. I thought that was unusual since balloons just float away and drift in the wind or breeze. About a minute after I got up from the table, my girl walked up to me and said "why did you leave talking alone?", I told her "look at that and tell me what you see". She described the same thing I was seeing: three black roundlike objects hoovering above the city. I quickly started taking refferences: the mountains in the background, distance from where we were standing and noticed the objects were pretty close.

Soon after this, other people started to gain interest at what I was watching through the window. One person actually came up close but did not dare ask what was going on. It seemed like he was trying to see something but I couldn't tell if he actually did. He probably couldn't because the sky was getting dark pretty fast.

I could still see them (the objects) because I had been observing for several minutes and knew their position, but it was getting kind of difficult because of the city lights. So I suggested we should find another location. We drove about 10 blocks to a neighborhood that is poorly lit. The sky was almost completely dark by now but I could still make the objects out. A few minutes later it was so dark I could not see them anymore.

My girl started to get a bit scared so we left.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Could not be stars because the event started with some light in the sky and there werent any. It was a clear night so no clouds. Since the objects did not move they weren't birds. Blimps and weather ballons aren't common in this region. So we (the community) would know about them.

Witness Background

I'm an architect. I own a pet store.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I used to read plenty of articles about all this, until I lost a bit of "faith". I've always wanted to witness something unusual. I think of UFO's as something man-made until rpoven otherwise.

Other Comments

I am a very honest person with no reason to lie about this. There could be an explanation, but it was pretty clear to me that these objects weren't anything I had seen before.

Full Description & Details

[From original 'brief description']:

My best friend was driving her car; I was in the front passenger seat, and our friend (also our housemate) was in the back. We were driving on rural roads to go visit her (friend in backseat) sister and brother in law who lived around Overbrook, Kansas. I was looking down while rolling a cigarette when she exclaimed, "Look!" For some reason, I immediately looked up and out the window and so did my best friend; it seemed as though we just knew where to look. Surprisingly, we did not feel afraid but were filled with awe, and I had the presence of mind to look at the car's clock and record the time. After a few seconds, we stopped the car; we got out and watched the object until it disappeared. When we got back into the car, I asked if they each agreed upon what was witnessed. We were all in agreement.

-----------------

[Full Description]:

The object flew above the tree line, though seemingly not too much higher. It is difficult to gauge, being as it was at night, over a basically flat field with few trees, and I am not an expert at altitude. I try to explain it like this: extend your flattened palm between one foot's distance from the tip of your nose to maybe the full extension of your arm (flexibility of distance to account for fallibility of memory); this is about how it seemed, except that the breadth was more expansive. it was LARGE. MASSIVE. kinda like a flying football field in the sky. It appeared to be constructed of some kind of metal, with a flat bottom, and I remember specifically being amazed that I could see that the bottom was not a singular piece of material, but was composed and consisted of plates of metal that looked to be pieced together with rivets. it reminded me of a quilt. The undercarriage also had several (don't know how many--more than 10 I would say) lights, which I recall to be similar to regular car headlights, except probably much more powerful, and were puzzling to me because they seemed to have been, figuratively, sprinkled on--their arraingment appeared sporadic, haphazard, disorganized, erratic. To my recollection, they were constant, and did not flicker, nor did they graze the ground. I remember only seeing the underside of the object, which we all agreed appeared to be wingless. The shape is difficult to describe, because it doesn't conform to any geometric shape; the closest I've been able to come is to compare it to a slightly elongated hexagon. But the main feature for us, and what took us aback, was that it was absolutely, positively SILENT. I could not tell the speed at which it traveled, except to say that it did not dart, and stayed on a "straight" course over the field at a steady and deliberate pace: imagine a pope's hand waving slowly over a crowd. I wish I had kept track of the time with my watch, but I was absorbed in the sight; however, I think we watched it somewhere from 15 seconds to a minute before it met the horizon line and was beyond our vision. I yelled at it in the hopes that it would show some acknowledgement, but it did not. To my recollection, we did not experience any interference with any electrical components of the car or accessories on our person, nor do I remember static on the radio, but knowing my friend, we were probably listening to a CD--don't know if that matters.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Given what I perceive as the criteria for what constitues a "natural" versus "man-made" object, I believe that the object can objectively be ruled out as "natural." I think that it is reasonable to examine the object as a man-made aircraft . I also believe that given the degree of my knowledge about the object and its affiliations, I cannot, with any certainty, postulate as to its origins.

Witness Background

I am an off again, on again college student who has lived in the Deep South most of her life, and recently moved back after a 3 1/2 year stint in Kansas. I am not strongly affiliated with any organized religion, and do think of myself as having what might be known as a spiritual life. I have not made many decisive calls on the metaphysical. Anything might be possible could sum it up.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I am, and remain, skeptical of alien abduction as a "true" phenomenon (I tend to side with alien abduction as a sensory-based metaphor and phenomenon of the psyche). Since I don't have a plethora of evidence or percentage figures to aid, I perceive sightings of UFOs (in the popular culture sense) as runing along a continuum, with some being hoaxes, some legitimate, some misconceptions, some misrepresentations, some possibly accurate in their conclusions, and perhaps some a combination. Provided they are not attempting to deceive, I emphasize the relevance of respect for the validity of the *experience* of every person who reports "unusual" phenomena. Belittlement engenders silence, and silence nourishes ignorance. I think many sighters' accounts are truthful to their perceptions and are of value; afterall, they did experience *something.*

Description of Area / Surroundings

3 miles outside of a small town. Morris , Ok population 1,250. A few farm houses scattered around the area.

Full Description & Details

It happened late in the summer of 1987 about 3 miles north of Morris, Ok. It was around 10:30 to 11:00 pm on a sunday night. I was on my way home from Talequah Oklahoma heading south on Highway 52 towards Morris. I looked to my right through some trees and brush and noticed a large glowing red light through the tree/shrub line at the north end of a private grass runway that was owned by family friend Dick Ashley. At first I thought it was some sort of airplane with a LOT of red lights all over it. As I got even with it on a paraellel course it started moving south down the runway. It was then that I noticed that when it got close to a runway light (which were turned off) the light would illuminate. The closer it was to the light, the brighter the runway light would illuminate with it's own white light. As it passed each runway light , the runway light would dim back out and go off. They were incandesant bulbs. I have since learned that a very strong electro-magnetic field can cause this to occur. The UFO continued down the grass runway reaching around 70 mph. At the south end of the runway it climbed to around 100 feet and turned directly east , heading for highway 52. I wasn't for sure what it was until then. I pulled my old truck over to the side of the road and stoped and got out. It came down directly over the highway to about 50 feet up and stoped and hovered there with only a very low humming noise. It sat there for about 3-4 minutes as if to study me. I was scared yet intriuged at the same time. I thought that NO ONE is going to believe my story. There was a trailer house directly across the road from where I had stoped and I wanted more witnesses. So I picked up a new rocks and threw them at the side of the trailer, but no one ever came out. There may have been no one home or maby they were asleep. I had hoped that it would land and maby I could meet them if there were any inside flying this thing. After the 3-4 minute hover it started flying north up Hi 52 and decended down to 3 or 4 feeet above the road and continued north for 1/2 mile. Then took a left and headed west on what we all call the old Gun club road staying only a few feet off the ground. I could see the fence posts between me and it as it flew away at about 50-60 mph. I got back in my truck and started to follow it but decided to head on home. I knew I must keep this a secret to myself for the rest of my life. If I told any one they would think I was nuts and I'd end up in a mental institution. My house was only a few miles away from the sighting. As I pulled up in the driveway, I noticed the pourch light came on and my wife was standing in the door to greet me. That was somthing she NEVER did when I came home after a weekend away. As I approached her I noticed a blank, sort of scared look on her face. So I said,"Did you see it?" and she replied "Holy shit did you see it too?" I said "Hell yes I saw it!" So we stood outside looking around the sky and traded stories. She said she was coming home about a half hour earlier and saw the same thing on the old Morris highway. She said it came down and blocked the road in front of her car only a couple of feet off of the road and about 2 car lengths away and sat there for a couple of minutes. She was so scared she just froze. Didn't get out or try to back up. Then it lifted straight up and over the power lines and flew off to the north east. My son was in the car with her but was so young at the time that he doesn't remember much. He was 5 and remembers the big light in the road but didn't know to be afrade or curious.

I thought at the time that this might be the start of a lot of sightings or maby first contact between us and them but that wasn't the case. Neither me nor my wife ever saw it again. But I did carry a cheap camera in my truck for several years after that. At first I tried to tell myselft it was some sort of new experimental military aircraft. But if that were the case it wouldn't be coming down and blocking traffic on public roads. That violates all kinds of Federal Avation Administration regulations. Plus if it was new and experimental they would be doing testing in some secluded location like the desert where no one could see. So I know what we saw that night and there is no stupid weather baloon explination that can change my mind. But I would still like to meet them for I know they have to be highly intelligent to be able to cross the vastness of space to come here.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

There is no way it can be explaned by any conventional man made or natural object. It moved too fast at times and hovered quietly during other times.

Witness Background

I am a graduate of Okla State university. I am an aircraft mechanic for a major airline. I enjoy flying small planes from time to time.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

Before the sighting I thought UFO sightings were for crazy drunken rednecks. Now I know what I witnessed and feel that maby some reports are actually true. I now believe a story told to me a few years earlier by a highschool friend and his brothers and sisters.

Appearance / Description of Object(s)

The object was not visible directly. The first flash, which was also the brightest, had a magnitude comprable to that of Venus. The flash and streak that followed became dimmer. The light was white in color, there may have been a bluish hue to it, but it was likely a result of the contrast of the white on black.

Size of Object(s)

The object was not directly visible

Description of Area / Surroundings

Was in a suburban area. The sighting occurred in my backyard which backs up to a park. The tree line was just below where the object appeared in the sky. No special features in the area.

Full Description & Details

The 2 flashes and 1 streak were seen in the northern sky at about 40 degrees in altitude at an estimated magnitude similar to if not brighter than Venus. It initially appeared to be an iridium flare, however the flash appeared again, but dimmer. Its final appearance was as a dim steak of light a few degrees in length. I assume it was the same object as a straight line could be drawn from where the flashes and streak occurred. I can rule out a fireball, as it was traveling too slow and during the 15 seconds or so I saw it, the object moved only about 5 to 10 degrees (towards the horizon.) I doubt it was a disabled satellite, tumbling in its orbit because its appearance in the sky was too short, but it should not be ruled out as a possibility. I doubt it was an extraterrestrial vehicle

It should be important to note that the first flash was seen indirectly, as I was viewing a satellite as it trekked across the sky from the general direction of North to South. An airplane was seen shortly after the event traveling from West to East, so it is possible that there were witnesses there that saw the same event.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

As stated earlier, it is unlikely that the object was a fireball, as it was moving to slow. It is most likely a decaying satellite tumbling in its orbit. (I have a lot of confidence in this explaination, but what's interesting is that the sighting was so short)

Witness Background

I am a trustworthy person, I do not suffer from any mental problems except A.D.D. and it is important to note that i'm also a boy scout. I've been a lounge chair astronomer for 4 years now and I haven't seen anything like this before. I am a high school student (10th grade), and I take the topic of UFO's very seriously.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I had known quite a bit about UFO's, both as ET vehicles and as purely unidentified flying objects, before the sighting.
