I was traveling West on route 136 toward Havana, Illinois. I was West of hwy 55. It was a clear, warm, summer or late spring evening in 2003. The sighting began as I was driving on 136 and had to stop to check out a minor problem I was having with my vehicle that developed the day before. There was some sort of radio tower to the south. I noticed two briight but unusual lights in the sky in the distance behind the tower. They appeared to be on the wing tips of an airplane that must have been in the area. The strange thing though is they appeared to be descending from they sky in an area where I did not think an airport existed. I watched them as they got closer. There was no noise coming from the approaching craft. The lights got larger and larger and lower as they came nearer. after about 4 minutes, the craft had come over the tower and was less than a mile or so away. By this time it had descended to about 200-300 ft. As it flew over I was amazed and stunned by what I saw. The object passed over me at about 100ft altitude. It was a shallow v-shaped wedge. The wedge appeared to be about 80-100 ft. long, but could have been larger. It made virtually no noise other than a low frequency buzzing sound. The lights on each end of the v are the only lights I could see. They were relatively large and round. The light they emitted was white- but seemed funny somehow. Diffuse and not as intense as I would expect from an airplane. As far as I could tell, this object was black or other dark color. I felt no draft as it slowly drifted over me and the corn field to my north. It continued North for about 15 seconds then banked right towards the North East, level off and disappear from my field of sight. I am not one to jump to conclusions, but this was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. I don't know what it was, but it was no airplane that I have ever seen.

My car had been stolen and left on the outskits of town ( very close to where my other siting was) I had gone out that morning to see what kind of shape it was in. It was a beautiful place and I walked up the knoll to the rock formation and stood there for awhile and admired the view. That night, we were bored so we decided to go out to where my car was, and see if it could be started. As we drove in off the road, we pulled up next to my car, there was a large disk shaped object hovering or sitting on the rock formation I had stood on that morning. I stated that it was a ufo.( myself and the other girl had seen 8 of them not to long before.) The boys and even the other girl, starting making excuses. It was house or a chicken farm, it was like they could not or would not see it. They did acknowledge there was something there and it was very brite. I told them I had been up there that morning and there was nothing there. They still refused to accept it. It was very smooth and amber colored. It had a band of darker amber going around what was maybe the middle. It seemed to hum and pusate. I call it the sound of silence. The other 3 folks were laughting and talking, and I just sat there with my head in the wind wing. I couldn't believe it. I knew what it was even if they refused to see.it. After a while it was like someone had taken a led pencil and drawn a door shape over the top of the craft. It started to come out. Now when My friends saw that they started screeming and panicing. Fineally my friend got the car started, ( I don't know if it was because he was scared or it wouldn't start) but they were feaked. I was perfectly calm. I wanted to stay. I felt no fear what so ever. I remember thinking that my feeling no fear was wierd, beacuse they were in such a state of panic. I really wanted to hang around.

After watching a movie with my best high-school friend in Helena, we were returning home to Townsend (28 mi east of Helena). About 10 minutes out of helena on the hiway we saw in the distance what appeared to be three lights in a line. We figured they must be helicopters in formation since they seemed to be moving very slowly. After another 5 mins or so we realized that the lights were getting closer and were very close to the highway. Ulitmately we drove underneath one object and stopped, which hovered over the hiway at I would say no more than two-hundred feet. The object had three lights, one at each point of a T, since it was very dark, I could see the craft by the lights so it may have just looked like a T, in any case, I was stunned to see your pictures on this website. The object made a soft jet-like noise, like an airplane APU sitting on a runway only much softer, not loud at all. We couldn't believe that the object wasn't louder when we got out of the car and stood underneath the object looking up. After a few seconds, the object slowly moved in the direction from which we had come (back to Helena) We immediately reentered the car, turned around on the hiway and gave chase. The object gained speed rapidly, we drove at almost 100MPH and lost it in a matter of seconds, we saw the object until it appeared to decend into the lights of East Helena. We drove to the airport in Helena but saw nothing. The next day, we drove back to Helena to the airport and saw nothing but did notice a few Air Force cars. I'm not sure if the air force has a presence in Helena, the airport is small though. There is a firing range near the place where we spotted the object however. I served in the Navy for 6 years, have seen many Harrier Jets in Spain and know how loud they are. This was no Harrier jet as the sound from this object when standing under it was barely audible. We completely lost track of the other two objects since we were so consumed by the one we stood under.

I feel relieved to have read your article, we told my friend's mother and father the next day, my parents, who looked at us like we were nuts or just being stupid. My friend committed suicide a few years later, so I have no one to talk about this. My wife thinks I'm full of it too when I talk about this which is not often. The first time I saw this it was about 4:30 Am . I had gotten up to get a drink and looked out my kitchen window that faces towards the Mediterranian Sea and there it was. I was curious so ran to get my binoculars. It looked like a big craft with colored lights flashing around its edges. It moved slowly from side to side , up and down, diagonally. I was not sure , but thought it was a UFO. It was still there when I went back to bed. This happened within about a week before the second sighting. I had mentioned what I saw to my husband the next day and he said I was crazy. But Then.......

My husband and I were driving home, we live in the country so to speak. We saw a large bright object that appeared to be hovering in the direction of our house. When we got closer within 300 yrds. we saw the object hovering over a neighbors house. We got out of the car and were standing basically right underneath it. It was hovering VERY low, like the distance of a football field high. It was at least as big as a 747 or larger, triangular in shape. It had 3 triangular white light panels, very bright, on the bottom side. It had blinking colors, red,green, blue , yellow around its edges. We stood underneath it and just starred. It was silent , not a sound. We could not believe our eyes, especially my husband as he is not a believer in anything strange. The object was as still as it could be and then in a flash it headed towards the mediterranian coast and without a sound it was gone within two blinks of an eye.

It came in above a ridgeline near our home. It traveled from south to north them hovered over a knob about 500 yards away. I called my Mom and step-dad to check it out. They watched it for a couple minutes then returned inside. It then dropped out of sight. I told my step-dad it went down on the knob. He suggested I go up on my motorcycle and check it out. I declined. After about 15-20 minutes of it being out of sight, it reappeared above the knob. It slow returned the direction it came from and once it was about a mile away it shot out of sight in a split second. It's speedy escape was at about a 65 degree angle. It could not have been an aircraft as no airplane or helicopter could have duplicated the flight pattern or object appearance.

I went up to the knob the next day and found evidence of an object setting down on top. My tracks were the only ones present. I also noticed the area which was usually fully of wildlife was eerily silent and devoid of birds or other creatures. I did not stay to investigate further. I was 14 at the time.

The second UFO I saw was at night. It hovered above our home and the home west of us. I saw the lights flicker (I went outside to look at it.) They would light one on then off, then the next would light up and go off, etc It made no noise. The third ufo sighting was a formation of UFO's flying west over the Plaza area. The fourth UFO I saw was directly over the same house as when I first sighted it. It also made a loud noise. It was about 6 a.m. in the morning. I saw all these UFOs on 45th street except for the fleet of UFOs.

I am an airline pilot with one of the National flag carriers in Europe. A number of years ago we were cruising at about 35000 feet and on a night return flight from Lagos to Europe. It was a perfectly clear night with no clouds anywhere and had settled in on the long monotonous sector over Algeria when my colleague prodded my arm and pointed to something in the northeastern sky. I looked and observed 4 lights in what I can only describe as a roughly trapezium shape well above our flight level. Almost immediately the milky white lights faded out simultaneously leaving us dumbfounded. My colleague said he observed the lights for some

Seconds but was unable to utter a word. Both of us were absolutely convinced the lights were no aircraft or stars. Bear in mind we had both flown many thousands of hours in our careers and had never seen anything like it! We have not reported anything as we felt there is no. Point. After all no evidence!

Anyway I had forgotten all about it until I stumbled upon this website. While clicking through the various pictures thinking the majority can possibly be explained as unusual cloud formations or other rare aerial phenomena when I came across photo 189( http://www.ufoevidence.org/Photographs/Photo189.htm )and there was instant recognition! Hence this comment. Question is are their any other colleagues out there reading this, who have had a similar experience?

(I will not put any information on the witness' actions or reasons to be there, due to he|she does not want specific mention.) There were 2 kinds of craft; apparently one kind did not like the other.

A clear and perfect night, not one cloud or aircraft to be seen for hours of star gazing. In the distance there were 3 globes of light, each in separate locations. There was one to the North, one to East North East, and one to the East. They had continually changed courses and height rapidly, but maintained general locations. I disregarded them as patrolling aircraft at first. Green Red Orange Blue White pulsating out of each one.

I and the other person turned, to see another craft approaching. It had 3 perfect bright white lights, in dome shapes. No gear or other lights at all on that craft. It was about 30 feet up, as it passed over there was no sound what so ever. This craft came directly from the south, going north. It flew slowly. An outline of a triangle blocked out the stars, the ends were rounded from what we could tell. It turned North West, then sped up towards the other 3 light orb UFOs. The other three lights came together into a loose delta formation and speed off out of view, while the triangle disappeared into the same direction.

It is my belief that the 3 orbs of light were none government. The triangle could have possibly been a government craft sent to investigate. I could be wrong.

That’s it, besides a (bad) reproduction of the triangle's fly over via an animated .gif, there’s no more that I can say.

I DID contact a local officer from a near by military base, after debunking several explanations I got a "Do not look into this matter" sort of reply.

I saw this object on the Fourth of July. I am not absolutely sure of the year though. I was about 15 years old which would have been 1969, but it could have been '68 or '70.

At this time I lived in Jacksonville Beach, Fl.. Every year my town would have a great fireworks display down at the beach which would attract huge crowds. I went out into my driveway to see how dark it was. If it was dark enough I was going to walk down to the beach to see the display. I was in my driveway facing north. The sun had set, but it was still quite light outside. I remember the sky was very clear. I was looking up at the sky when I heard a "sizzling" like sound above and behind me. It sounded sort of like bacon frying. I turned around facing south and looked almost straight up. I saw an object that looked just like the letter "V". This object seemed very low. I estimate it was only 100 feet or so above my head. It was flying with the point forward due north. It did not look very large at all. I estimate it's wingspan at most to be 15 feet. It was composed of 7 very bright red balls that glowed like flares. These were connected by very black tubes. There was a flare at the leading point and 3 equally spaced flares down each wing. There was a flare at the tip of each wing. This object was flying in a perfectly level flight at very slow speed. I estimate it was only going 10-15 miles per hour at most. I could have kept up with this object on a bicycle easily. I also noticed very faint wisps of black smoke floating off of some of the flares.

My first thought was that this was some type of new firework I had never seen before. After all, it was the Fourth of July. But it was puzzling. It was flying so slow, and I could not tell what was making it fly. It was not shooting out sparks or flames like a firework normally does. Even the wisps of smoke I saw were just floating off of the red flares the way steam floats off a cup of hot coffee.

I watched as this object passed directly over me and continued north. I was still not completely sure if it was a firework, so I kept expecting it to come down. But it never did. It maintained it's speed, altitude, and perfectly level flight until it flew out of sight in the distance. We had an unobstructed view from my house almost to the horizon. I watched this object fly for several minutes. I knew then it was no firework.

Full Description & Details

The night of the sighting was very stormy - heavy rain, wind and thunder/lightning. We (myself and then-fiance) were in my bedroom at my parents house. A donkey in the orchard at the end of the garden (south facing) was making a lot of noise - we looked out the window - there was a flash of lightning, and then the object sped past, parallel to the house and heading east. To me, it seemed close, maybe within 20 ft and about the size of a family car; but Steve guaged it as being maybe up to 50ft away. Height-wise it was only about 20ft off the ground. Whatever the distance at the speed it was going it did well to avoid the higgledy-piggledy range of houses in the area - if indeed it hadn't already hit something, because it was trailing what looked like a ropelight - the kind of white/clear tube you get with lots of coloured flashing lights inside. We heard a bell ring - quite loud and fast (like a handbell?), not tinkly. It seemed circular, made of something dark, and it was domed. I remember likening its top to a kids toy/game, 'Simon' something, which had a sort of button on top. As it went past it angled and we could see the underside which had larger lights. The illumination showed a little detail on the base - moulded shapes (some linear, some curved), and something about the base suggesting a triangular shape. As it passed we heard a strong 'whooshing' sound. The whole event could only have taken a few seconds, but it felt like we had been watching for up to a minute. Afterwards, we just looked at each other - shocked and not sure what to make of it. We didn't tell ANYONE about this until some 14 years later. In 1994 my sister (who had no way of hearing about it) told us she'd had a dream. In it, she was looking out the window to the left of the bedroom we had seen the object from. Her description of the object from her dream matched what we had actually seen in 1981or 1980. She described that in her dream she ' telepathed' "Are you angels?" and got the reply, "No, but we are very thin". All very odd. At the end of the summer months preceeding our sighting, we had noticed strange lights around/in a tree in the orchard I've mentioned. They were like green fireflies and moved around in the tree (which was about 150 yards from the back of the house). I'd say they WERE fireflies except each time we walked down the path (still some distance from the tree) they started to amass, glow more brightly and come towards us. We reported our sighting to a local ufology group in 1994 and were told a similar object had been seen on November, the 11th I think (and possibly the same night as our sighting) in Devon or Dorset in 1980/81 (sorry, can't remember which) - both bordering Somerset.
