DESCRIPTION OF OBSERVERS- My mother was the first person to notice the 3 lights in the sky at approximately 7:50pm (CST). She was walking out some friends of the family and her sister to their cars and all 5 of those people noticed the lights. My mother then called myself, my Father, and my sister out to the driveway to see the lights. We then went and got our next door neighbors to come and see the unknown lights as well. Since I work at a 24-hour news station here in Chicago I called the station to try and let the news director know what we were seeing, however, they were unreachable. I then called two friends in two different parts of our town (yet still within Orland Park) to look up and see the lights, they too were able to see the lights. One of my mother’s friends (who had been walking to her car) she called her husband who was in Tinely Park (an adjacent town to Orland) and he too confirmed that he saw the lights. One of my friends in Orland that I called also saw the lights from his driveway with a family that was out "trick or treating". The ages of the witness' varied in age from 13 at the youngest to mid-60's.

DESCRIPTION OF OBJECTS- there were three distinct Bright Red lights in the sky. These lights were similar to the red lights that are on top of Radio and Cell phone towers. However these objects were moving, incredibly slowly. They maintained a steady pace similar in speed to a dirigible. The three lights were too far apart and too high to be planes, dirigibles, or balloons. Since we live in an area that has a high air traffic concentration (the O’Hare and midway flight path triangle) we are used to seeing lights in the sky, several commercial planes flew below the lights on there way to and from the airports. There was full cloud cover at a very high altitude, so we were unable to see any stars, however these three lights remained totally below the clouds during the entire 20 minutes.

DESCRIPTION OF WHAT OBJECTS DID- the three lights came in from the southwest when we first noticed, them moved toward the north (towards us), the three lights proceeded south east then after several of the people in our group had begun calling friends and family on our cell phones, the lights were too far away to be seen by 8:17pm. The lights maintained an obtuse scalene triangle formation during the twenty minutes. The distances between the objects remained relatively constant throughout the sighting. The lights did not change speed at all during the sighting, nor did they move in directions that would be impossible for conventional aircraft. Although the near "hovering" speed and the high altitude maintained by the objects completely rules out any helicopters. There was no noise heard from the objects.

DESCRIPTION OF BACKGROUNDS OF OBSERVERS- I'm a 23-year-old college Graduate and I work at local 24-hour news station covering the Chicagoland Area. My father is a 53-year-old college graduate and has worked in sales for over 35 years. My mother is a 53-year-old college graduate and homemaker. My sister is a 15-year-old high school sophomore. My neighbor’s are in their mid-60's and both hold masters degree's in education, one is a college professor at a nearby college, the other teaches elementary school. Our friends of family included our former neighbor (ties in her 40's and a business owner), her husband in his 40's and is a business owner as well (whom she called on the cell phone), and her daughter (13 in junior high school). The two friends that I called on the phone are both 24 and are currently enrolled in college. My mothers sister is in her 50's, holds a college degree and is a nurse at a local hospital.

I was in my lunch break at work. This was at about 03:50, as I work nights.

I looked up above a large building, and spotted three white lights that looked like stars, but were below the clouds. They were moving from right to left, in a wave sort of pattern, following each other. The pattern was a sort of if you can imagin a wave, speeding to the left, then doing a quick turn back on it's self and downward, then another quick turn to go left again. they were all doing this pattern, but not exact. Each light was out of sequence as if the were trying to copy each other. they moved very fast, I would say much too fast for anything we currently have (that I know of). Plus the fact that they were executing these manouvers at almost the same speed only slowing to execute the turns, which was only a minimal speed loss, and I very much doubt, to my knowledge, that we have anything that can turn at them speeds. From looking at the size of the building over the road, which is a good 100 feet long. they looked about approx 3-5 miles away from me. And travelled accross the building in a matter of about 3 seconds, so they were travelling very fast. This including the turns they were executing, which numbered about 6 turns. I asked if any of my work colleagues had seen it but it was over in seconds, and they just thought I was mad.

I was standing on the deck of a vacation cottage we had rented for a week taking pictures of the sun set. when I took this pictures i looked at it after i took it in the previewer saw this object showed it to the other people with me and took another picture that has the faint object in it that looks like a small smoke ring.The deck we were standing on is close to 80 feet above the ocean I would guess. That would put the skyline out about 10 miles. the sun was well below the horizen and I belive the obvect had to be far out there and very large.

Full Description & Details

While driving north on freeway 101 approximately at the Canoga Avenue exit, my wife and I saw very cleary a red object moving rapidly from east to west that appeared to be above the west valley mountain range but distance was not possible to estimate. The object at first had a red trail behind it like a meteor, which was what I thought I was witnessing. However, the object was moving sideways maintaining about the same altitude and not 'falling' like a meteorite normally falls, i.e. in a downward direction. As I watched more closeley I noticed a distinct blue cone of air in advance of the object, as if it was causing the air to turn 'blue' hot in front of its advance. We pulled over so I could focus on it instead of the traffic. It was directly in my front windshield and easy field of view. I kept trying to determine what it could be and came quickly to the conclusion that I had not ever seen anything flying like this before. As it crossed my field of view it began to slow. As it slowed, the blue cone became smaller and smaller until the object stopped altogether and the blue cone disappeared, leaving just a large red dot in the sky. At that point, if one had not been looking at it closely, it could have been lost against the stars, except that it was much larger than a star. It looked like the size of a golf ball, say ten to twnety times larger than a star and it was very red. After a few minutes watching it stand still, we drove on and continued to keep our eye on it. When I reached the Mulholland exit, it was still at about the same angle in the sky, making me think it was still several miles away. At that point, it started moving again. Only this time it receded, striaght up and way from us. Again the blue cone appeared, but because of the changed direction, the blue cone was a round circle and no longer cone shaped. It encircled the object making me think it was receding up and the blue cone was in front of it still but appeared round because it was not going across the sky. It began to get smaller and smaller and the blue circle also became smaller and smaller. As the size decreased it became more faint. This continued until it became too small to see any longer. The total time elasped was about 15 minutes. To this day it is vivid in my memory and I wrote down the whole thing later that night when I got home. I consider myself an open minded skeptic. I have no use for beliefs or opinions. Its either facts or I am happy to say "I don't know". I dont' know what this was, but I am certain that I saw exactly what I describe and that it was not anything like a plane, jet, missile or similar object form one of the nearby bases. I have seen too many of those to know it could not have been anything military.

It is good that you are doing this. There must be many people such as myself who have seen unusual things flying around and who have not reported them for one reason or another. In 1977 I would have never reported this for fear of being scorned but today things are chaning thanks to people like you. I consider it a high mathematical probablity that, in an infinite universe, other intelligent beings must exist.

I saw the "black Triangular" craft mentioned in the Belgium reports, but rather than just seeing the bottom of the vehicle I saw the entire craft. The description of a black triangle is basically correct, but the shape was more rounded, or organic. At first I thought it was the space shuttle because it was all white.There may have been a pale silvery shimmer outlining the craft, or this may have been my remembrance of moonlight on the hull. It was a solid shape rather than having a separate wing structure. The overall shape reminded me very much of a sea skate, with the two forward wings contouring downward and being rounded at the wingtips, and the back end of the craft being more straight. It was very low above the ground, moving from North to South from just north of a line of hills locally known as "The Marcola Hills". I actually witnessed it appear from behind the hills and proceed South. Exact altitude unknown as it was about a mile to the west of my observation point, but it appeared to be just about at hilltop level, and close enough for me to observe in detail the way that the white lights were mounted. These large, round lights were recessed in an outer metal ring, and reminded me very much of a standard heat lamp light such as would be found in a bathroom here on earth. The red light at the center rear was smaller than the 3 white lights. What I most noticed at the time was that the lights were not forward mounted in order to light up the area in front of the craft, they were all mounted so as to light up the ground, or area, underneath the craft. I witnessed the craft from the time it first appeared from behind the hills until it proceeded South beyond my ability to see it further from my vantage point. It's speed was such that It appeared to move more like a dirigible than an aircraft - meaning that it simply glided slowly along with no engine noise whatever.I was at first afraid of being observed, but I soon realized that I was watching it through glass patio doors from a totally darkened room, so I was able to take in many details. The night sky was very clear and black at that time. I called the Air Force the next day to report it and was told that they no longer track such sightings. Since That time I have taken no other action regarding the matter. I have often wished to share my information with others who would take me seriously and have contacted your organization after watching the "Unsolved Mystery" progam and seeing a blurred photo of the bottom of a craft with similar conformation to my sighting.The size of the craft that I saw could be said to be about the same as a standard aircraft. I swear that this statement is true and I have not embellished any detail of it with things that did not occur.

UFO Encounter Close 26th January 1988 Pre Olympic Site Sydney 2000 .

On the 26th jan 1988 around 11pm or a bit later my friend and i were driving along the highway next to the now Sydney 2000 Olympic site. We were alone and one car was about 1 kilometer in front. A bright light approached us and veered to the right. It was a huge craft 400-500 meters away and 200 ft off the ground estimate size 200 ft long. It was cigar shaped and pulsated from the centre outwards every 3-4 seconds a golden yellowish glow. We slowed down I was driving and observed it for several minutes before it vanished over a disused factory quarry sites..I reported this to 2 researchers in 1993 after a series of dreams of people in robes telling me they would appear at the time of a great games in Sydney. When this was reported in 1993 as yet we were not awarded the Olympic games the site was not even chosen. In 1995 onreported to this day I have been emitting from the pores of my facial skin shiny metalic particles that shine like the sunwhen hit by light.It is not glitter as they are much smaller and different to anything I have ever seen. I have never worked in a metal industry . I am a nursing carer and musician. In 1995 I suggetsed to my brother to release the story in a dial up 1900 tele site. Evidence of this is in the papers of Sydney Telegraph Mirror. Late on that year we were awarded the Olympic games and the site where my friend and i witnessed this gigantic craft was commenced to be built. I have just recently this month decided to keep all the shiny metalic things coming out of my face .I have 2 samples which I need to have examined for my peace of mind as I have no explanation for what is happening to me. My family ,wife and friends have also commented on these things coming out of my face. This occurs almost everymonth and i do feel weak and ill for the past 10 years nearly. Full Description & Details

A mettalic and reflective object the size of a limousine, flew from south to north on the west side of the Franklin mountains, in El Paso, Texas, at an approximate speed of 50 mph and with a wobbling or tumbling motion. The object was about 3/4 of a mile from the witnesses and about 500 feet above the terrain, but below the tops of the mountain peaks. Speed and altitude were constant. The distance to the object was easy to estimate given the known distance of our house from the mountain. Our entire family witnessed the event. First to witness it were my father, mother and brother. They were in the back yard which faces to the south. The object approached from the south, from the direction of downtown El Paso. It flew low and close to the mountain and at a steady rate of speed. The Franklin mountains run in a north-south line, dividing the city into east and west sides. We lived on the west side. It flew between our home and the mountain, so the sun was to our backs (west) and shined full on the object, which was to the east of us. The day was clear and cloudless, late afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. As the object proceeded north my brother ran into the house and yelled at me to go out front on the balcony and see this object. He got my father's binoculars and joined me on the balcony. We had plenty of time, the object was not in a hurry. We passed the binoculars back and forth at least a couple of times, but the object was plain to see with the naked eye as well. There was no sound. There was no wind. We had many times seen planes fly this route along the mountain and you could clearly hear them and see them for what they were. It is the desert and sound carries on a quiet and windless day. It was not a helicopter. All of this was easy to understand immediately with or without binoculars. It was not a balloon. Because of El Paso's proximity to White Sands Missile Range, Holloman AFB, Ft. Bliss, etc., we were accustomed to seeing weather balloons, strange military craft and even large pieces of card board aloft high in the sky from the not too infrequent wind storms. We had even seen missile tests on occasion when we were on our way to Ruidoso, New Mexico. We have seen more shooting stars and meteors and space junk burn up over El Paso than I can recall or count, even beautiful day time meteors - and that is something to see. Obviously this was none of those. What I guess was so remarkable about it at the time was just how unremarkable it was. We watched it as long as we could, until it finally was lost to sight heading north along the mountains. My father, in law enforcement for more than twenty years, had no explanation for it, but he was a practical man and he went about the yard work. What should he do about it. My mother was at a loss as well. She actually recalls reading about it in the paper the next day. Others had seen it and reported it apparently, but it had never occurred to us to do so. What would be the point? I was impressed, but after seeing such movies as Close Encounters it was a little anti-climactic, however, with time, this sighting has really intrigued me more and more, and as a spoiled young man of 17, I guess I sort of took it for granted, hoping that if I ever did see something that it would be so much more impressive. As I learn more about the phenomenon I am coming to realize just how good and impressive the sighting really was. And how unique the experience was, as I may never have the opportunity to see such a thing again.

NOTE: Regarding the time of the sighting, it is possible that it was Spring of 1980, but it was certainly during my senior year in High School and definitely not winter or cold weather. Check the El Paso Times and see if you can find a report for 1979/1980 that happened on a weekend.

There is actually a photograph in your archives of an object that looks remarkably similar to the one that I saw. This photo was shot in the 80's somewhere in south, rural Texas someplace. I am not much for sketching this thing, it is easy to imagine. Take an old Mercury capsule, put a nice glossy finish on it, pull it and strectch it out laterally from the center until it is about 16 to 20 feet wide and then you have got yourself a fair approximation of what it was shaped like. What was funny about the shape of the thing was that at the time I told some friends about it they told me that I could not know what I was talking about since UFO's were obviously shapped like two contact lenses or saucers placed end to end! Oh well, what you gonna do?
