Lights were bright set out in a triangle formation it looked like how a snooker or pool ball would be set up. the lights were different colours but the purple stood out mostly that the only colour i recall

I was driving along the M3 at around 21:40pm i always tend to look up at the sky when im driving its a habbit i have had for years, i used to joke everytime i saw a aeroplane id say "UFO!" to my girlfriend.

I saw what i thought was an aeroplane but as i got closer the object had round lights set out on a triangular formation i remember the lights being different colours but the only colour i remember predominantly is purple. it was not moving at all it was static and soo distinct.

i know others must have seen it too, i tried to look on google to see if anybody had reported it but there wasn't any reports

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

it could be man made yes, but its not something i have ever seen before and why would such an aircraft be in the air at that time of night
