Appearance / Description of Object(s)

when i first saw it, it was very large and bright, with a bright center circle and more blurry orange line around it, at first i thought it was a comet acutally. it was definatley not a plane, i was quite scared. graduallly it got smaller but a lot faster, and was traveling in one direction, i would probably say south west. then all of a sudden, after drifting in and out of visibility, it completely disappeared. i really could not believe my eyes if truth be told.

RELATIVE:when it first came into vision, i would have had to put about an inch over it it to cover it, and gradually i would say it went down to about a centimeter a half, then it disappeared. ACTUAL:i would say the actual would be about 40ft by 40ft.

at first about a mile and a half high,then got higher

housing estate, but the estate is very close to an industrial estate, about a mile from the industrial estate. there are also woods across the road

While traveling home in a taxi, i first witnessed the light. it was very large, low and looked like it was spiralling leading me to believe that it may be a comet,but it was not. the light gradually got smaller,but faster, and by the time i had reached my home a minute or two later it was significantly smaller and drifting in and out of brightness, and as i stood outside of my home watching it in fascination it suddenly disappeared. I have never seen anything like it, i was almost certain it was not a plane. the night was very clear,it was around 8 o clock when i saw it . i could see a lot of stars, but this was very much brighter and a large blurry orange.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

could have been a comet but not likely. i can't think of any man made object that would fit the description.

I know a bit about them, the thought always scared me to be honest.

i think when it disapeared,it could have been over the equator if that's possible?or out of the earths atmosphere.
