it looked pretty close. 2,000 ft perhaps.

it was in a suburban area, close to a small power plant

I saw 3 orange lights lined up. they did not move for a few seconds but then moved slowly overhead. a sound similar to an airplane was heard as it passed over my house. the 3 orange lights formed a triangle as it passed my house. the lights then disappeared into the night as they got smaller and smaller.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?
