Because it was so far away I only noticed a small white dot. Other then that nothing else.

Again it was so far away it could have been the size of a football field for all I know.

I live in a suburban neighborhood with not a lot of surrounding lights so seeing the sky clearly was easy.

I was on the phone with my girlfriend probably around 10 p.m. I was standing outside because I normally do for privacy when using the phone with her. I was looking up at the sky because It was a great night for seeing stars. It was at this time I noticed a small white object moving on a downward angle slowly. It was not moving fast so I thought it could have been a satellite. Still following the object with my eyes it shot upwards at a fantastic speed and out of sight. Nothing to my knowledge moves like this and can shoot that fast up into the stars. In a split second it had disappeared. It was funny too because it was around this time I heard that the discovery channel was doing a study on UFO's in Mexico City and BucksCounty where I am located. I told my girlfriend while I was on the phone of what I had seen and she didn't believe me. I am not sure exactly when it happened but I know it was cold out. So most likely beginning of winter.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Absolutely not, nothing can move at the speed this object did. Plus the fact that it shot upwards is a mystery.

I have always been open to UFO controversies, but after this I became more interested because of what I had seen.
