We only saw lights that changed from red and blue very quickly.

it was about a mile or more into the sea hovering over the surface.

it was a camp site, near the beach. We were the only ones on the beach at the time.

We were camping in Añasco, P.R., and during the night we were sitting in the beach looking at the stars over the ocean. We saw what appeared a large star, and noticed it changed from blue to red continuously. It was still for a about 3 minutes, then started moving closer to shore. It was quite far at first, as ti appeared to be a bright star at first. When it got closer it was very near the water, and we thought it was a helicopter or something. Then in a suddent move, it went very hight into the sky and came back down really quickly, i don't think an aircraft can move like that so we thought it was weird. after moving up and down for like ten times, two more lights appeared, and the three suddenly disappeared.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

it wasnt a star or planet, and i dont know of a man made object that can fly straight up and down so fast.

I was freaked out on the moment, and when we got home i started reading of the internet.
