Appearance / Description of Object(s)

I believe the shape of both objects was round, but since I haven't seen it, I'm not 100% sure. The lights were a very bright blue.

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

From my parents, they were about 200 - 300 meters. From the sea, they were about 1 - 3 meters

Description of Area / Surroundings

It was near a beach, both rural and urban. There were no (to my knowledge) special sites of features near that area.

My parents have told me this story. They are the one who have experienced it, not me. They are very serious people, so I can only assume that really happened.

They were on holiday in Algarve, a region in the south of Portugal. It was night and they were driving on a road near the coast and, obviously, the ocean. Suddenly, they were surprised by two blue lights that came from the sky, reaching almost sea level. The lights stood still for aproximately 5 minutes and then, returned to the sky. My parents say the lights were too fast to be a regular airplane (that the knew of) and the color was intriguing - like a police car's lights.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Possibly a very recent type of aircraft of some sort, but it vanished extemely fast

My parents believe in the existence of alien life, but only outside Solar Sistem. They have seen movies and things like that, but I would never say they were influenced by any of those things.
