6 bright yellow/white lights in a slanted row, no noise, unmoving

If i held my hand out in front of me it would of been 6 inches, It had to be the size of a large jet airliner, but it was next to the ground not moving

Description of Area / Surroundings

rural small northern town. nearest airport is 75 miles away. We only have helicopters that fly into Cook, Mn and they have a single light.

My Carpool friend and I left work in northern minneaota around 4:30. It was dark by the time we were coming into Cook, Minnesota and I noticed a slanted row of 6 lights in the sky above us. I pointed it out to my firend and she said " what the heck is that?"

we watched it for 8 seconds before it faded out and just below to the right of where these lights had been, another row of lights appeared. They lasted about 5 seconds and faded out. Just then at the original spot, the row of lights appeared again for 8 seconds and then it blinked out. These lights were not moving. We continued on to the town and stopped to get groceries. We told our story and we found 4 other people who also sdaw the lights.

These lights were in the lower sky perhaps 5 miles from us when we first noticed them. I uswed to live next to an airport and these lights were lower than a small plane would fly. I work with a doctor who is a pilot and I described the lights to him he said they dont sound like any lights he would know of or have seen. My husband said they probably were a row of lights on a plane, but it was way too low for that.
