Description of Area / Surroundings

Bathgate is a small town 17,000 people with no military bases etc . The objects were not necessarily directly overhead and could have beenobserving the oil storage depot at grangemouth on the nearby river forth or the naval base at rosyth.

The night was completely cloudless and I saw three individual balls of light come from three different directions in the sky. they emitted what I believe to be vapour trails caused by the heat from within these objects condensing with cold winter air. They travelled at a phenomenal speed and came together and stopped . They were too high to enable any description of shape colour etc to be made. I was 14years old and managed to get my parents grand parents and neighbours to come outside and witness the event. The objects stayed together for approx 10 minutes then separated moving away in different directions again at unbelievable speed and completely soundless. No one who witnessed the incident could offer any explanation. My father who was a navigator on bombers during the war told me that a number of crews had seen similar incidents but no explanation was ever forthcoming. This has convinced me that we are being observed by alien life forms and it is a moment that I will carry with me to the grave. The thing that is so vivid in my mind is the speed at which these objects travelled and emitted no noise.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

It was dead of winter cloudless sky, the three objects were on controlled flight paths at speeds beyond anything available to man.My father who was a cool headed man trained as a navigator and taught to be observant reached the same conclusion as me that these were not man made.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I think that there are too many reports from credible and responsible people for there to be nothing in it. The only thing that causes doubt in my mind is that why these aliens who must have travelled unimaginable distances and demonstrated technology way beyond our primitive development do not make positive contact with us. The most annoying aspect of the UFO story is the lies and disinformation from the various governments round the world. Do they think tthat they are avertingworld wide panic or protecting the primitive belief in religion. This only serves to convince people that there is truth behind the sightings
