What my daughter and I saw was a pure silver sphere. It was a clear blue sky. There were no strings above or below it. It didn't make any noise and travelled in a very straight line. It was probably about 20 feet above the tube mill buildings and seemed to me to be about 10 to 15 feet in diameter. I've since looked on the internet to see pictures of weather balloons and none of those pictures are what my daughter and I saw that day.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

I honestly don't know.

I've read alittle about ufos, who hasn't but I just wasn't sure about such things. Now my daughter and I jokingly say, "Who'll ever believe us".

I thought ufos where like discs in shape. What my daughter and I saw was a silver sphere, a perfertly round ball in the sky, that moved faster than 60 to 70 kilometers per hour. I'd really like to know what it was that we saw.

the lights were a blueish white color, similar to stars in the sky on a clear night. the 3 lights were in a triangular pattern and when the light moved accross the sky it did not leave a light trail of any kind. the lights were brighter than any star in the sky at the time, but not so bright that i would have had to squint. i would compare the brightness to that of the light given off by a mig welder.

from my position the lights appeared to be the size of a pea, but the object seemed to be between 300 to 500 yards away. also from my position the lights covered a distance of about an inch(from the leading light to the rear lights). im assuming the object was at least the size of a smaller airplane such as a crop duster......maybe 20 to 30 feet long and a just over half of that wide.

the sighting occured over a small town: population 900. interstae 80 runs through the town, but their arent many lights. i could still see all the stars in the sky. the surrounding area is pretty flat, its mostly farm ground.

i was standing in a parking lot where my friends and i frequently hang out. i happened to glance upward, and when i did the three glowing orbs in triangular formation appeared in the sky. they moved very rapidly accross the sky heading due west. my first thought was 'shooting star', but ive never seen 3 shooting stars at once moving horizontally across the sky before. also, these lights appeared much closer and much brighter than any shooting star ive ever seen. im guessing the distance the lights were in my view was approximately 200 yards, and the duration of the sighting was very brief...maybe a second long or less, im not exactly sure. normally i wouldnt think much of this, but a few days ago crop circles were discovered in a bean field approximately 15 miles away from where i sighted the lights.

it couldve been a type of aircraft, but i question why it would turn its lights on and then off again in such a short amount of time. it also couldve been a shooting star, but there were 3 distinguishable lights and no light trail which is common with shooting stars.

my views remain unchanged. i have watched quite a few shows on television about ufo's and explanations on the discovery channel. my sighting seems very similar to many other sightings.

It look Triangular, and was very dim in the distance and then as it got closer to the ground as if it were going to land it looked like about 20 bright light bulbs were being lit under it.

It was a residential area near grocery stores, gas stations, high schools, etc. In additon it's not that far from cornfields,etc.

I was driving down Rt.59 in Naperville when I saw something in the sky off in the distance. I thought at first that perhaps it was a blimp flying overhead in Downtown Chicago since there was a Bears game that night. The next thing I know, this "aircarft" is not that far in front of me and it looks like what is multiple "aircrafts" in the sky which had moved quickly and closer. The light turns red and there are multiple cars around me and the couple in the car next to me honk there horn and ask the another car near us if they are seeing this too. Sure enough, he agrees and suggests that they follow it. Just as they say that, it looks as if the "aircraft" is going to land over nearby townhomes and multiple lights are lite underneath it. The lights can only be describes as a grouping of maybe 20 bright lightblubs. I thought perhaps there was a carnival in the nearby grocery store parking lot. Then before you know the aircraft that was on the right hand side of the road, is all of a sudden on the left of us and very far away.

I guess before I thought it could be a possibility but I was skeptical and just thought it was over active imaginations. After, I'm still a little freaked out and find it interesting that other people have seen things in the past as well so I am not alone. I didn't know anything about any of this except silly things you see in the movies or occasionaly some A & E special.

It was rounded on the top with a flat bottom (almost resembling a blimp). The entire object was glowing and it was so bright it was hard to tell the exact shape of the object. The light was almost white in color and there was a flashing red light in the dead center of the bottom of the object.

In relative size it was about an inch and a half. Actual size I would have no idea, about the size of the Goodyear blimp because that's what it looked like from the height it was in the sky.

At first, downtown urban setting. Along the Detroit River. It ended up in a residential/commercial area with no special features.

Approximatley 10:35 PM my mother, sister and I left the Joe Louis Arena parking garage in downtown Detroit and headed south on Fort Street towards the "downriver" area. We spotted an object over the Detroit River that resembled a blimp but it was glowing with a bright light and was keeping the same pace as us (about 45 MPH). We continued down Fort street keeping sight of the object for about 20 minutes. We lost sight of the object for about 10 minutes while stopped at my parents house. When I got back on the road and headed towards my house I spotted the object above me in the area of Dix and Northline. The object was glowing with a bright almost white light and a small blinking red light was in the bottom center of the object. It was rounded on top and flat on the bottom. It was moving at a pretty fast speed. It continued to move around in this area for another half hour before I lost sight of it. There was a man in the car next to me who was looking up at it also so I am certain other people saw it. I tried to take a picture with my digital camera but because it was so dark they didn't come out very well. I checked around with people the next couple days but no one else saw anything but the roads were pretty light with traffic being 11 at night on a Wednesday. However, a few days later a co-worker said she saw a report on channel 4 news that a man reported strange activity in the sky on Wednesday the 16th. This would have been the Thurday the 17th 11 pm news. I could not find any reports on their website and came across this website by searching Google for UFO sightings in Detroit.

It was definitaly not a natural object. I highly doubt it was a blimp due to the bright light and speed of the object. I would think a satellite would have been higher but I have never seen a weather balloon so I have no explanation for the strange object.

I really never thought much about UFO sightings until now. I wish I could find an explanation for this but I'm glad I came across this website and found other proof that someone else saw the object.

Relative: Could be covered by one finger due to the height. Actual: Anywhere from 10 to 50 feet wide and anywhere from 8 to 20 feet tall. I find it hard to judge but I am sure by useing ratios to the Washington Monument, a aproximate size could be found.

It was in the early to mid afternoon on a very windy day that these pictures were taken. The photographs were ment to be of The Washington Monument but after being developed you can clearly make out the ufo. On one picture, you can see a helicopter flying much below the ufo so it gives you an idea of how high this thing might have been, I would say between the upper Troposphere and the lower Stratosphere. In the other picture it seems that the ufo is much lower although it is harder to judge the height.

It is too high to be a kite/bird in one picture, to low to be a plane in another, too on an angle to be a blimp or an air plane, too elongated to be a weather balloon. As I see it, there is no reasonable explanation.
