On September 21, I was coming home from school, at about 9:30 pm on road 27 going North towards Lake Placid when first I saw a light that came in (east of the road) stayed for a few seconds static in the sky and then disappeared.

A few minutes later, I saw a second light, this time in front of me, exact same type of light.. bright yellow, in and then after 10 seconds or so, it disappeared. Didn't move neither.

I got home and probably at about 9:50 I left the house. Got on US27 again, North to downtown. I had to stop the car when I saw two lights coming in, very near to each other, more north from where I was, high in the sky. These were moving.. the only way I can describe them is as if fireflies were playing around. All of the sudden, a third and then a fourth one came in.. They moved around (did not transport anywhere, they were in the same place) for about 3 minutes and then disappeared, two first, then one and then the last one. I stayed there for a bit more to see if they came in again, but they didn't.

The next day, September 22, about same time (9:15pm).. I saw one light again.. I was again traveling on 27N towards Lake Placid, and it was on my left, towards the east. I kept going and then Two lights appeared together.. these, at one moment, looked like comets to me, because they started traveling (moving) and were leaving a "tail" of light. A few seconds later, they both disappeared.

That's all I saw.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Not a satellite, not weather balloon, not an airplane for sure, not a bird, not a star (too bright and too big and too yellow), not the moon.

Silver/Gray shaped disc with a dome top. Dome top had, what looked liked, arch shaped, tinted windows around it. Red lights surrounded the perimeter of the disc and flashed in a synchronized fashion, going around and around, flashing one right after the other. It was well lit from it's lights or from the moon....not sure which. It hummed softly as it hovered above us. The object I saw was very similar to the drawing submitted by the individual in Paris, TN.

It was no tall but wide. Probably as wide as my grandparent's house.

This event was amazing and I feel lucky to have witnessed it. That's how I view it now, although, I had no idea what I was witnessing at the time and had never heard of UFO's. I was 13 years old, my sister was 10. We were laying in bed, goofing around not wanting to sleep. Our bedroom was on the 3rd story of my grandparent's house which was located at the top of a hill in a rural area of Jeanette, PA. It was a hot, humid night. The windows of our bedroom were open. Our grandparents were outside, in front of their house, preparing their motorhome for overnight guests arriving the following day. My grandmother yelled up to us from the yard. She said, "Dee-Dee, Dee-Dee look outside the window". I went to the window and looked down to where I knew she was working. Standing in front of the motorhome, she pointed upward, toward the sky, and to the side of the house and said, "Look out the other window!!!" My sister and I went to the only other window in the room. Hovering right above roof level (right above this widow and out about 20 ft) was a large disc-shaped saucer. It was silver/gray in color with a domed top. The dome had, what looked like, arched shaped, darkly tinted windows around it. Red, round-shaped lights flashed in a synchronized pattern around its perimeter, flashing around and around and around. It hummed ever so softly. That is the only noise I heard. It hovered for about 30 seconds and then with a white streak of light it vanished, stopping in the far distance, hovered again, and then dropped down out of my sight into a nearby valley.

Not unless we have the ability to travel at the speed of light with very little sound. I saw this object up close and it is not anything I've ever seen before.

I was looking up in the sky around 6:00 pm or so. I saw a bright, roundish light rip through the sky at a high rate of speed. it was moving to the left. It stopped mid air and stayed stationary for about 20 seconds. Then changed course and went back the way it came at a very high rate of speed before totally disappearing within seconds. A friend was with me and saw the exact same sighting. We both were standing there in disbelief at what we had seen.

No way. It was moving entirely too fast, and then stopped mid air within an instant at several thousand feet in the air.

Other than the running light from side to side, It was lit up by the city light that it was hovering over. I did not observed any other light source.

It was an early evening, I had driven to get a hamburger. on the way back down Magnoia Ave. I noticed that 2 people on opposite sides of the street were stopped dead both looking up at something. I looked in the general direction, but at first didn't see anything. I turned the corner onto Carter St. and there it was. It was a boomerang shaped UFO hovering over a transformer. I got so excited, I tried honking the horn so my husband would come out and look, but the horn didn't work. I ran into the house to get him which didn't take very long. When we ran back outside it was nowhere to be seen. I saw the complete underside of it from approximately 1/2 block away. It was distinctly metallic with hatches and portholes on the underside. It had a sweeping light in the front that ran from side to side. The machine was TOTALLY silent. I KNOW that we STILL don't have that kind of technology. It was larger than a jet plane and didn't resemble anything that I have ever observed before.

I heard my father pull into the front driveway at our house. I went outside to see what was going on because it sounded like he had hit something with the car. I opened the door to see my Dad standing outside looking up at the night sky. He asked me if I could see the orange light that was moving in odd patterns through the night sky. I told him that I could and asked him what he thought it was, he didn't know. We watched it for 10-15 minutes when I decided to grab my rifle for a better look. All I could see was a bright orange light. My father grabbed a spotting scope and said that the light appeared cigar shaped.

I ran inside to grab my Nikon d5000 but as luck would have it the battery was dead. I then ran back inside to grab my video camera which came on but then died as soon as I started to record. We watched the object move from West to East in circular patterns and then just vanish after about an hour. My dad called the Sacramento Air Command the next day and asked if there where any objects flying in the sky that night. They told him that there was a U2 spy plane in the area about that time but I have never seen a cigar shaped, self lit U2 in my entire life that could hover almost motionless while pulsing its intensity in and out. Then to have it just vanish in to thin air. I have no idea what I saw that night but it was very interesting.

it wasn't a planet, my dad used to teach astronomy at the college. I don't believe it was man made, it was silent and moved very slowly and was very bright. Much brighter than the lights on an aircraft

The fast fireball trail and sparks could have been a satellite breaking up as it entered the atmosphere, except then the red-orange starlike object continued along a slower, definite path toward the south. Maybe it was re-entry of a fusion battleship like the one that strafed Beijing airport a few months ago.

We sighted it from a rural area. The object was going out over the Pacific.

at about 9:45 p.m. Pacific time we saw a lit fiery flying object with a tail of light at first...heading South across the sky over the ocean. The tail disappeared and then it almost burnt out but then it flared up again with a puff of smoke and continued across the sky.

Man-made. We don't think it was a comet because it seemed like a rocket or jet-propelled.

What I saw was a bright yellow/orange light going from West to East, about 40 degrees above the South horizon. Then, I saw silver 'sparkles' trailing it for a minute, then nothing, then a puff of smoke with smoke ring, again, yellow light trailing smoke trail and finally a red light that faded to nothing. TURNS OUT THAT IT WAS A LAUNCH OF A MINOTAUR ROCKET FROM VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, LAUNCHED AT 9:41 PM PDT. Very cool not knowing what it was, very cool to find I witnessed a rocket launch just up the coast.
