I believe that I have found several occurrences of what is identifiably the same type of object based on a fairly obscure but noticable common feature (protruding tail). Of these, two are photographic cases, and four are accompanied by a drawing.
It is curious that while instances of alleged abduction by UFO aliens are rife in North America, they should be considerably less virulent in the Spanish-speaking regions of the world. This is made all the more curious due to the fact that one of the earliest cases, and the one most readily memorable, is without question the Antonio Villas-Boas abduction (Brazil, 1952). R
An introduction and overview of the UFO phenomenon and related subjects.
Scientists with NASA's Astrobiology Institute have discovered evidence that microbial life emerged on land between 2.6 billion and 2.7 billion years ago, much earlier than previously thought. R

A UFO phenomenon which was no more than a version of myths about elves and fairies should have very distinct characteristics (discriminators), which do not seem to be present in the UFO phenomenon.
Only two formal hearings on UFOs have ever been held. Here is a brief overview of those congressional hearings. R
UFOs have been around for more than half a century, if not many centuries, but the “Age of Flying Saucers” didn’t start until 1947. On the afternoon of June 24 that year, an Idaho businessman and private pilot named Kenneth Arnold was flying in his single-engine plane near Mount Rainier in the state of Washington when he saw nine strange objects flying through the sky. This article by Bob Pratt recounts his conversations with Kenneth Arnold. R
Donald Edward Keyhoe was one of the most prominent people in the world of UFOs in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. His influence on ufology was great. His five books and numerous magazine articles about UFOs convinced countless thousands of people that UFOs are real. Because of him, many of those readers became UFO researchers themselves who are still active today. This article by Bob Pratt recounts his conversations with Donald Keyhoe. R

The discovery of some documents from the fascist era of Italy opens up new horizons for research on UFOs, and compels students of this subject to amend the official history of the flying saucers. Under "Il Duce", Mussolini, there was a secret government commission of enquiry, known as the RS/33 cabinet, which studied the UFOs. R
Clyde Tombaugh, the discoverer of the planet Pluto, died on Friday, January 17. Below is a brief biography of Tombaugh provided by his close friend and fellow sky-searcher, David Levy. R
Government service occupied most of the working life of Gordon Creighton, but he perhaps made his greatest mark as an authority on unidentified flying objects. His conviction that extraterrestrials were visiting Earth seemed oddly at variance with the more orthodox worlds of diplomacy and Whitehall. R

Astronomer Chandra Wickramasinghe is director of the Cardiff Centre for Astrobiology. He is a former student of Fred Hoyle, with whom he co-developed the modern theory of panspermia. Wickramasinghe, who proposed in 1974 that dust in interstellar space and in comets was largely organic, is currently developing methods for detecting life processes in space. R
An electrical engineer and senior editor for Aviation Week and Space Technology, Philip Klass began investigating UFOs in 1966 after participating in a panel discussion on the subject for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The collection contains case files, subject files, and correspondence. In addition, Klass' SDI material is included.

Recently, without fanfare, some of our most distinguished space and aeronautic experts gathered to exchange data on Unidentified Flying Objects - and their confidential reports show that many scientists have seen aerial phenomena that could only be labeled UFOs R
Duplicating the harsh conditions of space in their laboratory, NASA scientists have created primitive cells with membrane-like structures. These chemical compounds may have played a part in the origin of life. R
When ultraviolet radiation was more intense than today, and the early Earth had a mix of nitrogen-rich molecules, how did this primordial soup get cooked? And how did it not burn? This kitchen chemistry lesson has a new recipe, according to recent research from Osnabrueck University, Germany and the National Institute of Health, USA. Scientists are asking the question: How did the fittest biomolecules survive, before life itself began? R

When scientists first started to classify life, everything was designated as either an animal or a plant. But as new forms of life were discovered and our knowledge of life on Earth grew, the original classification was not sufficient enough to organize the diversity and complexity of life. R
Aliens have never had it so good. Their friends the Raelians are claiming to have cloned humans; their PR agent on earth, Steven Spielberg, has just unveiled a new TV mini-series, Taken; and now science is starting to take them seriously. An interest in the existence of cosmic neighbours is no longer the preserve of shadowy conspiracy theorists or sci-fi obsessives: respectable academics are now in on the act. R
The sun does not revolve around the earth. The United States government has been in business with little gray extraterrestrials for about 20 years. The first truth stated here got Giordano Bruno burned at the stake in 1600 for daring to propose that it was real. The second truth has gotten far more people killed trying to state it publicly than will ever be known. R

While there are many reliable and genuine UFO reports, there are also hoaxes, misinterpretations and psychologically generated cases which are often referenced as reliable. In some instances, this is because the cases were discredited long ago, or in obscure journals.

We consider an egg as alive, but regard the Aurora Borealis as a non-living physical phenomenon. Textbooks of Biology and Physiology offer no explanation. This is strange. No textbook on jet engines would neglect to define a jet engine, nor would a reference work on Mammals fail to remind us what distinguishes a mammal from other creatures.
Public opinion polls show that over 50% of adult Americans think UFOs are "real," over 70% think the government is hiding information about UFOs, and 40 % think that the government is concealing information proving the existence of UFOs, presumably hardware or bodies. Only one out of three are skeptics.
Captain Edward J. Ruppelt was the head of USAF's Project Blue Book in its first year, which was initially meant to be an honest and public investigation on the problem of the UFO reports. Long after his retirement from the Air Force, he wrote the following article for TRUE Magazine; which published it in a special issue on UFOs. He told further things which he omitted in the present article, in his book "The Report on the Unidentified Flying Object", 1956.
As more and more is made public about the flying saucer research of Canadian Project Magnet Director Wilbert Smith, it becomes more and more apparent that Smith enjoyed a high “need-to-know” on the subject, and at least temporarily held a close relationship with those doing the highest-level research in the United States. Agencies included the CIA, U.S. Navy, FBI, NASA, and the U.S. Research and Development Board.
