Two young men from Draguignan named Pierre Calafat and Andre Bouchaud, members of a dance band, go to an isolated house which they have rented. When they drive up to the house, they observe a large reddish disc, flying around above a vineyard beside the house, about 150 metres from them. They park and watch the UFO performing zigzag movements, and then see it come to a halt at a height of ten metres or so above the ground and only about 50 metres from them. View full report
Buzz Aldrin: "There was something out there that, uh, was close enough to be observed and what could it be? Mike (Collins) decided he thought he could see it in the telescope and he was able to do that and when it was in one position, that had a series of ellipses, but when you made it real sharp it was sort of L shaped. That didn't tell us very much." View full report
More than 200 students and staff from two schools watched as the object landed in a nearby paddock, lifted off and vanished. It was a low-flying, silver/grey shining object, either of classical flying saucer shape or close to it, "a cup turned upside down on a saucer". The UFO appears to have left a circle of scorched grass. View full report
"The object was unmistakably triangle-shaped and extended beyond the width of both north and south bound lanes of M-39, at an altitude approximated between 500 and 1,000 feet. Mr. J. told me that his years of experience working around aircraft (including the military), left him with the feeling that this aerial object was not an airplane." View full report
The witness was going home when he encountered "a sinister looking thick flat black triangle with rounded edges and four large white lights under it. [It was] flat across the bottom." The apparent size of the object was two feet across at arm's length. There was a "very low rumble that seemed to be behind and higher up than the [object]." View full report
"Whilst travelling home in my car with my wife when I saw a very bright oval shaped object rise up from behind a house. Although it was very bright it did not hurt your eyes to look at it. The object was slowly rising steadily above a house in the street. I stopped my car to observe it the object then started to move off to the right with its speed increasing." View full report
"Both Mr. Lethbridge and Constable Blackwood describe the same thing: A cigar‑shaped object with a curved tail, in the sky with blue, red and yellow flashing lights. It ranged from about thirty‑five to forty feet in diameter and hovered approximately five hundred feet above sea level with no movement. " View full report
Seaman Ian Kinsey, of Her Majesty's Coastal Service, was on his 2-4 a.m. watch at the Cornwallis station. When he looked out towards the shoreline, he saw a sharply oval, yellow object resting on the beach. The UFO was "lit up," but not glaring. Five minutes later a sliding door on the object's side opened and a smaller, cigarette-shaped UFO entered the larger object through the door. A similar sighting took place a few hours before in Springhill, about 125 miles from Cornwallis. View full report
