A family in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada, watched a UFO. The sighting was featured in a CH TV News report, showing interviews with the family as they described the UFO and its behavior. The daughter noticed the object first and called to her parents. "Then I saw it stay in one place for fifteen seconds," she says. "It was tipping to the right and left, sort of like this. And then it went straight west."

Port Alberni, British Columbia Object - TV News Story

Date and Time of sighting: August 15, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research Note: I found out about the UFO sighting through a friend who works at one of our local stores here in town. They told me that an entire family watched, and video taped a strange object and that Global TV had done and interview with the family and ran the footage. So to start with, I thought I would place a short audio clip to the site of the young girl telling in her words what she witnessed. She was such a delightful child to speak with, I also spoke with the Mother and Father who explained the events also.

I have added the short clip of the young girl describing what she saw back to the site, plus the Global News footage, or the news story in it's entirety.

Partial transcript of the CH TV News report:

News anchor: "Another family in the Albert Valley believes WE are not alone. They say they have proof that UFOs exist. There are some striking similarities to a sighting a coulple of weeks ago when a family captured some strange flying objects on video."

News reporter: "These are the pictures the Kalicki's took of the flying object they saw last night. It's circled in blue. Unfortunately in both pictures, it looks like a dot, barely visible. But in person, the UFO looked much larger and unlike anything the family had seen before."

Reporter: "Monica, their daughter, noticed the flying objects first from just inside their house."

Monica, the daughter: "Then I came out in the back. I called my mom and dad and then I saw it stay in one place for fifteen seconds. It was tipping to the right and left, sort of like this. And then it went straight west."

Vicky Kalicki, the mother: "I have seen first time in my life. Before I have seen on TV, I read in the book…."

Reporter: "Exactly two weeks ago, another Port Alberty family saw UFOs, and they recorded this footage on their video camera. The similarities are striking. Both sightings were on Monday nights, both within similar hours, and both from the same neighborhood. The first sightings were just after 5 and 6 PM. Last night they saw the rounded saucers at 7:30. And both families live north of Johnston street, only five blocks apart."

Mr. Kalicki, the father: "I think for sure -- it's from space. Maybe our galaxy has life. Who knows?"

Reporter: "CHN news sent this footage to the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle Washington. The director says the footage could be a plane and he would not conclude that the object is a genuine UFO. But the director didn't see the objects first hand, an experience that seems to be more compelling than what seems to be captured on film or video."

Mr. Kalicki, the father: "For sure, it was no airplane. For sure, not. For sure, I am 100 percent, I believe, [a] UFO. I believe it was [a] UFO, for sure."
